Hey guys:
I got accepted into these schools. Plan to do pre- med and maybe double majoring in health policy. Which school should I choose? I am leaning towards Berkeley but am worried because of the grades and competition. Can anyone tell me about your experiences and opinions as well as which school you would choose? Thanks.

What is the cost differential? Have you visited each school? What were your impressions?

The UCs are similar and are two thousand more. I have not visited each school but I might visit UC Berkeley. Wesleyan is in a really small town in Connecticut while LA is in. big city. Berkeley is near other cities such as San Francisco. I’m not sure about the weather in Connecticut but it seems more extreme as I have always lived on the west coast.

OP, as this is the second thread you’ve started on the same forum, I really think it’s time to cut Wesleyan from consideration. You’re not going to have time to pay a visit and it’s different enough from the UC system that no amount of anecdotal evidence will trump your personal doubts. At least, it hasn’t so far:

In a way, I really sympathize with California URMs and other high-need applicants because even though the conventional wisdom is to always wait for the RD period before making a decision, the decision for Californians with high-need not only involves the possiblity (and perhaps necessity) of going OOS, but if they follow where the money is, it’s nearly always going to involve crossing the entire continent.

I say go with whatever school is most difficult to transfer into. I say that because I think you are a prime candidate for second-guessing your decision no matter wherever you wind up and not giving the difficult transfer school a chance will ultimately leave you with fewer choices.
