Hi, i'm currently a senior in a high school and i've been planning and thinking a lot about my future and college lately. I want to pursue a career in Pixar studios and live in NorCal when i grow up. I was thinking of going to community college then transfer to UC Berkeley and try to get an internship at Pixar as a software engineer. I wish to goto community college first to save money and get my chances higher. What is it that i have to go through in community college? Do i just do general ed? What should i do to make my chances higher? Can i start focusing on my AA degree in computer science? Get in honors program? I don't know if i'll do well in honors program because i'm kind of weak in English but i still have higher GPA than 3.0. I need the best advice! I really want to goto UC Berkeley.

Bump please??

Are you in California now? Your best bet is to go to a California community college because they have the highest acceptance rates to the UCs and the most transferable courses.

Don’t get an AA in CS, instead take as many prerequisites as possible (math, science, programming). Check assist.org for course equivalencies. Yes, an honors program will help. You’ll need a high GPA (as close to 4.0 as possible) for a shot at Berkeley.

Also, take as many AP tests as you can in high school.

If i’m in honors program, will the classes be more difficult?

You should look into the honors program at the CC you plan to attend and see how it works. But yes, most likely the classes will be more difficult or have extra work required.

Also why not get an AA? I thought it would be much more helpful later on in your career

Since you’re going to be getting a bachelor’s anyway, the AA won’t matter. Depending on the CC, the AA might require extra classes/units that universities don’t, which would slow down your transfer.

Anymore suggestions?
