UC Blue and Gold Plan

When I got accepted to the UC's as a transfer student in 2013, I received info about the Blue and Gold plan. The info said that transfer students could get their tuition and fees covered for three years. I just looked into this matter again and it appears that transfer students are only offered the B&G plan for two years. Did the rules change or did I misread something? I'm receiving Cal Grant, so I currently don't qualify, but I had intended on trying to get the plan to cover my third and final year at UCI. Is there any way I could qualify for the plan during my third year? If not, do I have any other options to cover a third year's tuition? I transferred as a junior. I'm a psych major with a 3.7 gpa. I qualify for Pell Grant, but that would only take care of half the year's tuition. I'll be applying for scholarships and I know I could take out loans, but obviously I would like to avoid that if possible. In summation, can I get the Blue and Gold Plan to cover expenses and what other options might be available to me?

B&G is mostly more of a marketing term describing the level of financial aid UCs tend to give. You may want to ask UCI’s financial aid office directly about your situation. (The UCI net price calculator does not seem to care about your class level or how long you have been attending, so if there are any differences based on that, they won’t be visible with net price calculator experiments.)

I think B&G for transfers has always been 2 years…same as Cal Grants.

The Blue and Gold plan is for two years as a transfer student. The state hopes that you will be efficient and graduate within the time frame. http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/paying-for-uc/glossary/blue-and-gold/
