I got the same exact writing score twice (but improved 100 points in math and crit reading) so I don't think taking the SAT for a 3rd time will improve my writing score. (my spelling/grammar is bad...:))

Could you guys please chance me at the UCs as well as UVA (err U of Va, just out of curiosity)
Any other recommendations would be great.

Thanks :)

Oh and I'am a Cali Resident interested in Statistics and Biology.

ucchris' chances are right on the money in my view.

You should consider retaking the SAT I to bring up the overall score (by working primarily on the Writing section, obviously). It could make all the difference in whether you get into UCSD or not.

Oh, and UVA (OOS) is a slight reach to reach.

Weak GPA, slightly weak SAT score, and average ECs

Berkeley/UCLA: big reach
UCSD: reach - slight reach
UCD/UCI/UCSB: match
UCM/UCR/UCSC: safe match

The reason I say this is your GPA. The average UC GPA for Berkeley/UCLA is about a 4.2, UCSD's about 4.1. Mid-tier UCs (UCD/UCI/UCSB) have an average of about 3.9 UC GPA, which is a bit above yours, but since your SAT score is at the 75th percentile and since your ECs are above average for them, it's a match. Your UC GPA is a little bit above UCSC/UCR/UCM's.

I totally agree with kyledavid80. Don't know much about NYU but it seems from what i've read you probably are a reach for NYU but not as big of a reach as UCB / UCLA
