I'm a California student, I plan on applying to UCI UCSB CSU long Beach and maybe UCR and Cal Poly SLO. I graduate in 2011.

My overall (not including frshman year) is 3.8 weighted unwieghted is like 3.6-3.7ish 2 aps junior and
1660 on my SAT ( i know its bad but i'm probably gonna retake soon)

Varsity Volleyball 1 year and probably next year and JV 2 years, our school is very competitive, I'm a member of key club, DECA, CSF, Korean American Club. I also played/play Club Volleyball for 4 years, i forgot how many community service hours but it was less than 100 but pretty close, and

I just took the SAT 2's for world and us history and math level 2, I also have a sibling who goes to SB (I don't know if that helps at all). So if anyone can tell me my chances it would be a big help.

except for UCR, all those schools are very competitive and are gonna be reaches. for UCI and UCSB the average GPA is about 4.0 (UC GPA) and SAT average in the high 1800’s/low 1900’s. CSULB was the most competitive CSU this year and your GPA looks good but you need to get that SAT score up a couple hundred points. cal poly SLO is actually pretty much as hard to get into as the middle UC’s, so i’m gonna the same as i did for UCI and UCSB. UCR you’ll get in definitely

Bump,
Ok, found out my gpa is actually 3.81 (got a 4.2 last semester) and I just got my new SAT scores and I got a 1870. Im a officer for a club too so considering these changes what are my chances?

I partially agree with Athenisa, for Cal Poly SLO, your chance is heavily influenced by choice of major. But I would submit that Cal Poly will be a reach for you.

Not to be harsh to you, CP overall university’s admitted frosh GPA (3.9) and SAT 1 (1292/1600 for Math+CR only) average is competitive. Your stats are currently below those marks. So it will be an even greater issue if you are considering college of engineering, architecture, or business, given their requirements are even higher.

In general, Cal Poly’s general admission stats are very similar to UCD, UCI, and UCSB.

well, im gonna do like buisness marketing/ buisness type major, eachcampus had different choices, i really just want to go to irvine, o and i calculated that i have like 300+ hours of cs and other ec activity, I should have a higher gpa but 4 teachers gave me B’s when i should have had an A because they lost work or similar things along those lines
