UC change of major (Transfer Student)

I'm currently a community college student with the intention of transfering to UC Irvine. And, my current major is Criminology, law, & society. Although criminology seems like an interesting major, the idea of changing major upon transfering has come to mind. My question is: once transfering to UCI would I be able to change my major from Criminology to Spanish? If possible, I plan on pursuing a double major in Spanish & English; I want to be a translator for the court system one day. Any advice, tips, examples, opinions, will be a great help. Thank you in advance.

It is possible since it is not impacted.

Just fulfill these pre-reqs and declare your major

[UCI Change of Major Criteria: School of Humanities](http://www.changeofmajor.uci.edu/CoM_Hum.html)

I don’t know the time limit rules that UCI has for finishing your degree.

You need to do your research to see if the major is impacted or not and take in mind that if you dont have all the lower division requirements than you might have to stay there longer. Good luck!
