how bad would you say the overflowing class sizes are. I have heard about people not being able to graduate in 4 years because of not being able to get the classes they need. What percent of the student body is affected by this? and do getting in classes go on a first come first serve basis?

It depends on the UC, and the major. My dd is graduating from UCLA this year, in four years, as are most of her friends. UCLA tends toward the “get them in and get them out” philosohy.

I haven’t had any problems yet. I feel like if you plan things out, you can graduate in 4 years easily. I’m a general bio major and a science education, music, and psychology triple minor and I’m going to graduate in 4 years. Classes enrollment times at UCSD are based on the number of units you have, and I only came in with 12 units. My sign-up times suck but I still get the classes I need.
