Also the reason for the junior year fail other than taking the hard classes, was that i had a personal loss in my family in the beginning of the year and that individual meant a lot to me..... he went through a lot of pain and passed away. I want to base my essay on this,a nd how it affected me so psychologically that i went into clinical depression and how i changed as a person from it.

Do u guys think with a strong essay, and these many extracurriculars, and a strong gap during my 1st semester of senior year i can have a good shot at : UCLA, UC DAVIS,UCSD,UCSB,UC SANTA CRUZ, UC RIVERSIDE, UC MERCED...also i am a california resident. Please be 100% honest.

Any ideas regarding my essays, how i should approach it?

My personal recommendation to you is if you really want to apply then go for it. But the likely hood is you will be rejected as a high school applicant. What I would do is if you don’t get into where you want as a high school applicant then enroll in a California community college, select a major track for ucla or whichever one you want, complete 2 years there with 60 transferable credit hours and an associates degree, and then get into the tap and assist programs on the ucla website to help you take the right courses, then get into phi theta kappa (2 year school honors society), maintain a 3.5 or higher MINIMUM gpa, keep getting involved, and make sure to send in your good act score and you will get in eventually. If you work hard enough, you can do it through a community college if not at first.
