UC College Prep Elective?

I am an international student from Canada,
I was reading the course requirements, and I noticed that the UC requires 1 year of college prep elective course?

I really have no clue what this is...
I am taking IB diploma.. so can I just list one of the courses as an elective course? would TOK count as an elective course?
or am I not elligible to apply to the UCs if I don't have the elective?

Thanks in advance.

?anyone please ?

Do you mean the fine arts requirement? If so, anything like art/music/drama would work for that criteria.

well... it says "1 year of g- college prep elective"... and there is another requirement for fine arts... so I don't think the prep elective is same as fine arts requirement...

"Elective" just means something that is not a core requirement (i.e. english, social studies, math, and science). Anything other than that may qualify as an elective. Does UC really REQUIRE fine arts? that's strange...

Yes, 1 full year (2 semesters of same class) of fine arts is mandatory for UC's.
