UC Course requirements...uh-oh

IMO, someone last year took one semester of ARt (i think it was ceramics) at a local community college and that qualified for her to get into Berkeley. I suggest you do the same. But you should definitely still apply. I mean you can apply, you just have to make sure you have the credit by the end of the year. Even a summer course in art i hear is possible.

A 3 unit community college course in art, drama, etc. should do the trick.

A 3 unit community college course DOES work. Thats what I have done, along with many others at my school.

I was born in CA but i shifted out of usa before high school stared and i'm applying from outside usa.
i'm in an american school, approved by CITA.

now how do i know of UC approves teh courses my school offers.
my school forced me to take "art" in grade 10

the name is just art not visual art

would this qualify for an a-g requirement?

can somebody plz answer my question

Apples - it probably depends on the course description. If it's a "hands on" art class it probably fills the bill.

You can probably make up the requirement over the summer. We had a rep come from UCLA to our school and this was mentioned. You might want to check into that possibility.

But how do I know if UC has approved my school's courses

I don't think so, since final transcripts are due mid-July.

If you're in-state, then there's a database you can check. If you're out-of-state, then they haven't approved any.

so if they haven't approved any do i still fulfill me requirements?

Does anyone know how to enter the 3 unit community college course on the application?

Actually, besides a-g requirements, one can qualify for UC two other ways: by testing alone which is how most home schoolers qualify; admission by exception, which would include Jodie Foster as well as scions of foreign dignitaries and athletic recruits. But, the latter is rare.

You enter it under other schools, first you enter the community college then you enter the course. Students interested in the UCs should just make sure they take the A-G requirements and be done with it.

PS Jodie Foster went to Yale.

ebee:

yes, I know where Jodie attended college. But, I was responding to Tarhunt's post on page 1.

Sorry, I missed that one. Pretty funny asking about Jodie Foster. How about just figuring out that if you are interested in the UCs you should take the courses that meet their requirements instead of asking hypothetical questions because you didn't do your homework....

-so if i qualify by examination alone then i don't have to meet the a-g requirements?

my question as well. How do we know if we qualify for examination or not though. Also, what if my school has no visual arts program/drama/theater..etc..?
