haha much appreciated. Honestly, considering the lack of love here for Davis I have a feeling it will be fine. I don’t know if it’s the area or what but considering the quality of the school I would have thought more people would have been interested.

@MrHyde
yeah, what is going on with the lack of love for Davis? it is a top US and UC school. the mysteries never cease.

I <3 you davis!!!

^ yeah, and now let them give you more loans! haha

@northbeach Thanks, I was beginning to wonder considering everyone else I know that has applied has a financial aid estimate. If you experienced something similar then I’ll just look for it next week.

WAhhhh… I’m required to come up with 3.8k as well with a efc of 0! I wonder how cal grant would play into this aid since it seems to not be included for me or anyone else on here apparently

can i still get cal grant?

@kitty <a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home;
go there and make an account. check your info for this year. you might get it.

@UCKitty
CCC students can apply for calgrant before the second deadline (sept. 2nd) and the funds will be applied to fall 2012 if you qualify. it is a good idea to apply because then you might also qualify for Blue and Gold, which also covers the cost of attendance. so be sure to submit your GPA. good luck.

mine basically says pending…

^ oh, many still say pending. thought you had not yet verified your GPA. good luck. anyway, blue and gold kicks in too. cheers.

??? What???

So is basically everyone still pending? Don’t think I heard of even 1 person that got their cal grant finalized. I need to change school of attendance to UCLA lol

^ are you guys talking about CALGRANT or UC Davis admissions?
many calgrant award decisions are still pending. some of the awards always release their results later. for example the calgrant competitive awards. what are all those “???” for UCKitty?

@northbeach I’m talking about cal grant. I’m still pending. Not sure if anyone else is though. I’m going for Cal Grant A

in still pending for cal grant as well, everyone is. i heard they dont come out until may

^ yes, because they are also dependent on the state budget passing in some form or another. anyway, we will get blue and gold if calgrant does not come through. or maybe both. i should be asleep and i am still typing. haha

northbeach, this is my financial aid award:

So i am getting Blue and Gold too also!?!?!???

Is there a reason why I didn’t get the scholarship award? It shows Cal grant though. I have a 3.49 GPA and turned in everything on time.

generally the UC schools maintain just about what you have listed above for many students. either Calgrant, calgrant with blue and gold, or only the blue and gold plan covers that hefty chunk as noted above. any combination of these things.

it does not matter if you get calgrant or blue and gold or both, or all, what you see now is generally what it will be regardless. it is just that some people qualify for calgrant, and others do not, blah blah. so we don’t need to worry much about calgrant IF we are accepted into a UC.

the thing about BLUE and GOLD is that it is only through the UC schools. while Calgrant can be taken to many other schools, including state schools. but blue and gold cannot. this is one of the many many reasons kids should apply to UC schools. because they usually qualify for blue and gold.

kids who attend state schools really need to stress about calgrant because they will not get the blue and gold plan.
