Sorry, I’m not a Communications major (hence my username haha) but I know that for Psychology, I had to do 60 units just to be eligible for my transfer to Davis, and then I needed to finish like 18+ units so that I could transfer as a Psychology major. Granted, I realized this all a little too late and had to take 19 units this semester…but it’s been pretty good with two of those classes being online.
I think you should try talking to a counselor (if they’re any help) or a Davis rep if they come around to your school? My community college has a Davis rep who is on-campus at least once a month…so I talked to her about all of my transfer stuff.

^^Ok thanks. Yeah, I guess I should just wait and see than. There really isn’t anything that I can do at this point. The last pre-req was not offered at my cc.

good luck everyone! I was in your position a year ago. Time flies! If you end up at Davis, it’s a great place to be =)

@ cindylu: yep. I’m currently living in Webster Hall in the Cuarto area, which will be entirely for freshmen next year (:C). Living in the dorms has its ups and downs. My suitemates and I live below a noisy floor and we’re right by the gate (where you swipe your ID card to gain access into the building), so it’s noisy where our dorm is. Otherwise, it’s nice. If you’re on the semester system, transitioning to the quarter system can be tricky.

Anyone know when the decision will be posted? Thanks

the suspense is killing me. I don’t have a TAG but i have a 3.1 GPA and have finished math classes up to differential equations(4 classes above calculus) haha. I am majoring in math and i know its not competitive at all, but i still have that feeling in my stomach that i wont get accepted haha.

Still waiting…Hopefully the decisions will come this week!

can’t wait anymore!

My friends said they read it from either FB or somewhere that decisions will be release on the 20th. I’m not sure why they said that date, but I can go ask and let you guys know.

I’m a communications major. I took the linguistic class ONLY because my school offered it. If your school doesn’t offer the course you have no worries.

I just check the financial aid website and the admission application decision went from not satisfied to satisfied. Does anyone else have this?

@skeptic51: Oh okay. Damn, lucky. LOL. Yeah I actually looked at different CCs in my area through the assist.org site and almost none offer it. Thanks for chiming in though. Do you know if Comm is for sure impacted at Davis? My gpa is not great and I am TAGless =[

^^ Actually, if I didn’t have that linguistics course done, wouldn’t that disqualify me for TAG anyways?

@iDizzle
No. If your school didn’t offer the course you would be fine. I actually just took it last semester because I moved. So uh…not so lucky really. I thought I was pretty much done and then moved to a new district which created a bunch of BS and I had to take three new classes just to make sure all pre req’s were done. I have no idea how you’ll be affected without the TAG. Good luck!

Hi guys,

My TAG for Computer Science was accepted waaay back in November, but now I am really starting to worry because I changed my coursework quiet a bit since then.

I planned to take Java and finish the Physics series in my CCC but I changed my mind about Java and I am only at 2nd quarter of physics out of 4.

Of course I reported these changes as well as my grades online already, but will this affect my TAG eligibility at all? I know CompSci isn’t competitive, but I am still worried. And whenever I email GunRock, they tell me to call the school, and when I call the transfer admission office, they just tell me that it’s not that competitive and I shouldn’t worry, but how can I not worry???

@ skeptic: cool, thanks. Yeah I hope we get it!

@golumstoe: First of all, you wanna teach me java? =]. That class is kicking my ass. lol. jk. But I guess there isn’t much you can do at this point. If they said CS is not competitive at Davis than they will not put so much weight on your pre-reqs. Did you drop any classes since the TAU? I just know you had to notify them in writing if you changed coursework after the TAU was submitted.

I also heard that the release date for decisions is the 20th of April! My friend who transferred last year to Davis said that’s when she got her decision, along with a couple of my other friends (the ones that I asked, anyways).
Well then, we only have a few more days of suspense! Hopefully…

I read a forum on this site about last years people in our position. they got theirs on the 20th, ill post the link right now.

WHOA!!!Seriously! JUST GOT AN E-MAIL SAYING I’VE BEEN ACCEPTED PRE-COMMUNICATIONS. I’LL POST NOW!!!

No way! Serious!?
