UC Davis Acceptance

^ Not true

It depends on the major. UCD has different tag requirements for different fields of study

It’s true in my case because Davis is the only one that approved my TAG thus far.

Are you seriously trying to say having Davis and Irvine as back-ups is “wrong?” Ever heard of a thing called preferences? It’s not a knock on Davis and Irvine, it’s just that I prefer to go to SB over Davis and Irvine. If something terrible happens and I can’t go to SB, Davis and Irvine are back-ups. Do you even know what a back-up is?

I can;t wait to get in!!! :D!!!..I will be stoked if I do!

Ditto that :)

Mid-April can’t come any faster!

Davis is critical for me because I’m almost certain I won’t get into UCB, and I don’t want to have to go to UCSC.

Am I the only good student who has Davis as a first choice? I’m planning on turning down both Cal, and UCLA for Davis. Am I stupid?

^ stupid? Not at all. You’re going to the University you want to go to, & that’s a nice choice to have. :)

lol I didn’t even apply to UCB

@theduck: is not at bad choice to chose Davis over LA or Cal.Heck,it’s is my number two(SD is number one for me since it’s closer to me).Davis at one time was regarded as number three among the UC’s before SD took over.

@theduck

It’s totally fine to choose Davis over UCLA or Berkeley. I was accepted to all three out of high school, and I immediate turned down UCLA. (I live too close to justify living on campus, and I was so ready to move out. Plus I don’t like the campus that much.) I was all set on Berkeley, but when I went up to check it out I looked at Davis too and was surprised how much I loved it. I ended up choosing Berkeley, but it was a difficult choice. Davis was really awesome. (As it turned out I didn’t get any financial aid and couldn’t afford to go anywhere! Hence my transferring this year.)

If something terrible happens and you can’t go to sb, most likely you won’t be able to go to uci or ucd as well. Unless your refering to like a meteor hits ucsb and you choose the others as ‘back ups’. but who the hell refers to back ups like that?

^ Are you autistic, do I need to spell it out for you?

I have already gotten into SB, I’m saying if something bad happens (non-admissions related), I need a back up school, and that back up happens to be Davis. Do you understand this simple concept or not? Do you know what a back up plan is or not?

Jesus, good luck with college, you’re going to need it…

“Davis is a back-up school for me as well along with Irvine”

then its not a back up school. its just a back up (lol). when people refer to ‘back up school’ 99% of the time they are referring it as admissions related. i guess your the only person who creates back ups just in case something happens “non-admissions related”. what disastrous non-admission related thing can happen that you need to make back up plans for? the reason i keep questioning you is because ‘back up school’ in the context of what most people think is a safety school that is easier to get into than your top choice. but appantly you are referring it to as if a ufo comes flying in and blows up the campus…so you have to go to a “back up school”…

Plans change. Not everything is set in stone. When your first choice suddenly is not an option YOU GO TO YOUR BACK UP. If you want my personal story I’ll give it to you. My parents don’t want me to go to SB, it’s also very expensive down there, my plans may be altered if I get into Davis or Irvine. What context you think the word ‘backup’ should be used in is irrelevant after I explain my point, but you go on talking about UFOs, it’s not a difficult thing to process.

^ okay see now that makes sense. its not that anything you said was hard to process its just nobody here knows your personal back story. so yes, in your case those would be considered back up schools. =)

quite honestly, ive only heard great things about davis from current students and alumni. whereas i have heard negative things about other UCs

Yeah, everything from Davis sounds so good. I can’t wait to check the campus out! It’s my second choice (tied with UCSB) after UCSD and I even managed to TAG for Davis so hopefully that should go well! :D

walleats, I was fortunate enough to visit UC Davis during my winter break. It’s a huge campus that emanates a rural and almost organic vibe. It offered a distinct contrast to the hustle and bustle of living in Los Angeles. I too have a TAG for Davis, and cannot wait for the acceptance letter!
