Well Im glad we established what a backup school is.

And now lets get some decisions.

They said mid-April on their website so no point checking for at least another 2 weeks. Rest up boys.

i cannot stand it! uc davis is like my dream/ #1. I just want an acceptance already!

Davis is my first choice as well. I tagged into Davis, so hopefully everything will be okay, but it is stressful not having an official acceptance letter. A lot of people ask why people who have tagged into a school worry about acceptance. The reason I worry is because I’ve heard many stories in the past about people who tagged in but had their acceptance revoked because of some reason or the other (normally they don’t complete a class they said they would on their tag). I won’t be completing a few non-required classes that I put on my TAG, and although I contacted my TAG rep at UC Davis and she said it would be okay as long as the classes are not required and I have 60 units by the end of this semester, I am still worried that something might give. Nothing’s better than being certain!

I totally know what you mean! Like I hesitate to say that I will be going to Davis because I wont believe until I get that acceptance letter!

Anyone know what the rates of admission are this year? (i.e. higher or lower than usual?)… Davis is my top choice.

I’m a transfer with a pretty good GPA (3.7 normal and 3.55 science). However, I don’t have a TAG. I’ve already been rejected to UCSB as a microbiology major and I’m waiting to hear from SD (human biology major) and UCD (exercise biology major). I’m kinda freaking out cause SB already rejected me…

I don’t know if you guys are familiar science transfers to these campuses but I didn’t finish ochem or all of my biology classes at community college. I still have half of ochem left and half of bio left. Its not required that you finish these classes to transfer, but I know it would look better if I did have these classes done so I dunno.

@ amsstory: hey,did the rep from UC Davis told you exactly how a TAG can be revoked?
My TAG was a simple 2.9 GPA and 60 units(got that) but I screw my schedule so many times since the TAG got approved.

@theduck I too am considering turning down UCLA and Cal. But for UCSD. Decisions, decisions.

The rep said that if there are courses listed under the “required courses” portion of your TAG agreement, that you have to take them. Not taking them would void your TAG. They also implied that the most important thing is that you have 60 units by the end of Spring. So if you drop classes that are not listed under the required courses but you still have 60 units by the end of Spring, your TAG will still be valid.

I’m pretty sure that your GPA dropping below the minimum will also invalidate your TAG.

So I think, in your case, you should be fine as long as you have taken or are taking the courses under the “required courses” portion of your TAG, you have 60 (semester) units by the end of Spring, and your GPA doesn’t drop.

So for anyone who is waiting for acceptances from Davis, I called them earlier today and asked if they knew what day they will be sending out admission decisions for transfers, and they said two to three weeks. That completely coincides with what they say on their website, but I noticed that they released some decisions April 7th last year and hoped it would be similar this year. Alas, it is not! Two to three more weeks of waiting here I go! lol

^ Darn, UCD be TROLLIN’!

@ isus39

Hahah seriously. I was hoping they’d post before Picnic Day.

It probably has to do with the fact that UCD actually conducts holistic reviews of transfer applicants – I suppose that’s probably a good thing, especially for those that didn’t qualify for TAG (I couldn’t get TAGs at any UCs because I did not have the English composition requirement completed before fall 2010).

I was so pumped when I saw an email from UC Davis Admissions today. My excitement quickly turned into disappointed when I saw that they were just asking me to fill out a survey about an event that they had online a few weeks back. :(

I spoke to a UCD rep who said that all decisions and rejections come out on April 20th. They also said that if you didn’t qualify for TAG but applied for it, it gives you a little advantage over not having applied at all. I was able to look at the screen and it said that a decision has already been made on my application but I don’t know what that decision is! Oh, and they don’t read the personal statements or extra curriculars. The rep said if you appeal then they’ll have a look at it.

Davis doesn’t read essays or look at extra curricular activities either? So then what are acceptances based on then? GPA and TAG? Man, I feel like I stressed over my essay for nothing, lol.

lol where in the heck is davis anyways?

Up near Sacramento.

what if y’all don’t get in this year? See will see each other next year?

I’m not sure what I’d do. I’d be pretty upset if I don’t get in since I have started to become really excited about transferring to Davis. Not to mention, I do not want to do this application process again. lol

So, you guys know how they have those “tickers” that count down to the day to a person’s birthday or the day when a baby is due? I kind of want one of those that will count down to the day that the decisions come out. I might make one that says, “x more days until Davis gives birth/delivers transfer decisions.” lol
