UC Davis Acceptance

I also received the email. Is that the final offer for Financial aid award or an estimate of how much they are going to offer. Could it change.

I got the email as well

does it mean we are all in?

it will be super weird if they tell you how much your grant will be

then just reject you…

Guys its obviously a “carpet bombing”, everyone I know got it.

I was sitting at work when i saw it and nearly passed out… I thought I was in for a sec, UCD is my number 1, not fair. Back to UCR D:

Nope, no email for lol.

I ain’t even mad.

Is the “UG Scholarship” the regents?

@christian612 On my info, the Regents and UG Scholarship are listed separately.

I feel so dumb for not knowing that you had to submit a letter of recommendation to be considered for a Regents Scholarship. Here I was feeling all inadequate when I wasn’t even being considered. :(

@cactusbass did you use [UC Davis: MyUCDavis Login](http://my.ucdavis.edu/) to log in? Or elsewhere?

I got the email as well, but I can’t log in. I can log into the myadmissions site, but when I try the link in the email I get You can check the status of your account and test your passphrase at https://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu…

[Welcome to MyAwards](CAS – Central Authentication Service) is where i found the info…

It seems like last year they sent out put up some financial aid packages earlier as well. Last year students received an email about their financial aid package going up about a week before the first batch of transfer decisions came out. So, hopefully, this is at the very least a good sign that some of the decisions will be out on April 20th, like many have heard. Although, who knows? It seems like much has changed from last year this year.

Okay, here’s what happened on the phone with admissions yesterday. I was on hold for about ten minutes before getting through (which, given the time of year, is not surprising). I explained that I had recieved an email from financial aid implying an offer of admission. The rep on the phone was not prepared to answer and had to consult with the director of admissions. After another five minutes on hold he came back with the official response, which was that the FAO is an independent office and anything they say about admission is not official; wait for an official response from admissions, which should come no later than April 30.

My take on this has not changed significantly. While I don’t see the point of sending award letters to students who are not admitted (just seems like rubbing salt in the wound, doesn’t it?), I can imagine that this might happen when offices do not share databases and are too busy to effectively synchronize all their practices and procedures.

To those who have been awarded Regent’s Scholarships: Congratulations. Though the official position is clearly that you have not yet been offered admission, the Regent’s Scholarship is far more competitive than admission itself. I cannot imagine a scenario in which you would be awarded the Regent’s but not offered admission.

Cactusbass: The Pell Grant and the Direct Loan are renewable for as long as you continue to qualify for federal aid. I’m not sure about the other (institutional) scholarship, but according to the Blue & Gold Opportunity page, it should be renewable at least for your first two years, as a transfer student. The amount of it may change, because it is probably tied in to EFC and unmet need, which may change when you file your FAFSA next year.
All that having been said, note the small text below the “remaining cost” section: “Federal, state and University funds are limited and subject to availability at the time they are offered. The amounts and types of aid are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice.” So this is not a guarantee.

BakerBoy661: From the Financial Aid Notice which you can read and sign on the MyAwards website: “UC Davis reserves the right to modify financial aid award(s) at any time, due to changes in my financial aid eligibility or changes in the availability of funding.” It is an estimate, but as long as you are prompt in providing all required documents, it should be a very good estimate.

I. cannot. wait. until. this. month. is. over.
Anyway, I spoke to a rep a couple days ago as well, and they told me the same thing as they told you bakemaster: decisions should be out before April 30th. I was really hoping they would be out the 20th (and I am still hoping) because then I could visit UC Davis during my spring break, which ends on the 24th. The more time it takes for decisions to come out, the more time I have to come up with reasons why my TAG might be invalidated.

This is my first post on CC and like everyone else, I can’t wait for a decision.

About me:

I’m a 29 year old male, working part time, and doing school full time. I’m tagged approved for UC Davis as an undergraduate major in Statistics but did take a NP in a class I am redoing now. I have over 60 credits and it wasn’t listed as a requirement in my TAG but we will see. I’ve been to the campus on several occasions and love it.

My birthday is on the 27th and it would totally suck if I didn’t get in. I was also awarded a pretty sweet UG scholarship too.

Stay positive fellow Aggies, I’m sure we will all have reason to celebrate soon!

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the “MyAwards” (financial aid) section for UCD? I have not been admitted but I received an email stating that I can view my financial aid awards. I’m confused.

@ Berialove: I am having the same trouble logging in at “MyAwards.” I saw an earlier post that gave you link where you could sign in and it worked perfectly fine. However, that was on Wednesday. I placed it as a Favorite on my computer to check on it later on this week thinking it was a possible maintance problem but still had the same login in problem. I got the e-mail from Davis yesterday where it said i could login to “MyAwards” but I still couldn’t get in.

I followed Cactusbass link and logged in to my awards just fine, I would call UCD and ask

Has anyone TAG’d with UCD but not yet received the email saying their financial package is ready?.. cause I haven’t gotten any emails from UCD and now i’m starting to get worried and anxious.

I haven’t gotten a FA email, and I dont have a TAG :(

@rayeofsunshine Yes, I TAG’d but I did not receive an email. I was also supposed to get an email notice about the Regents, but alas, an empty inbox. I suspect it’s because I changed the email on my UC application, but I will inquire on Monday.
