Hi,
I got Rejected from UC DAVIS and its my number one choice. I want to appeal, What are my chances and what should i write. Can anyone PLEASE help me. I am desparate!!!

You may want to check the thread asking for help on UCLA Appealing.

Thank you very much, but i allready read that thread, Does anyone have any stats, or any one that got in on appeal recently, What did they write in their appeals?

My son got rejected from UC Davis and he's bummed. Not because he wanted to got there, but it was more or less, his "safety" UC, so he's worried about the two remaining.

I spoke to our college counselor who we've been working with and he said he has had clients who appealed to the "middle tier UCs" and got in. The "middle tier" being Irvine, Santa Barbara or Davis. His suggestion was to write a letter, send your current transcript, resume and a letter of recommendation.

Couldn't hurt, right? Good luck!

He also said that Davis has become more popular because they have up and coming academic programs, some significant donors for certain departments (i.e. the Mondavi family) and they are now Div. 1 sports, so more people are taking notice.

May I appeal my denial of admission?
We strongly encourage you to select a campus to which you have been admitted, as very few appeals are granted. If you choose to appeal, your letter should describe information not included in your original application. This may be compelling information regarding personal circumstances and its impact on your academic performance, or possible errors in your application. You should include your fall 2005 and/or winter 2006 courses and grades, and your current spring 2006 courses. You must write the appeal; an appeal written on your behalf (by a parent, counselor, etc.) will not be accepted. Appeals will not be accepted by phone, fax or e-mail, and interviews will not be granted.

Appeals must be in writing and directed to:

Admissions Review Committee
Undergraduate Admissions
University of California
One Shields Ave.
Davis, CA 95616-8507
Appeal letters must be received by April 14, 2006. Appeal decisions will be released by April 28. You may monitor the status of your appeal on MyAdmissions. Because your written appeal is reviewed by a committee, we are unable to discuss it with you in person, over the phone or via e-mail.
