UC Davis Class of 2022

Does anyone know if the honors college invitation is exclusive or how many people do they accept into the honors college?

@catsandcandles The UCs can’t see your gender, race, or ethnicity when they review applications

@oliverhannaoui Really? Wow would have been good to know. But can’t they tell from my essays?

For future applicants I just wanted to say that my ACT score is low (26) because I’m a bad standardized tester and I was really stressing about not getting in anywhere because of it. My gpa is 4.15 and I thought that all my hardwork would go to waste because of one ACT score and my anxiety around taking the test. So far, I’ve gotten into every school that I applied to including Tulane, Cal Poly SLO, and UC Davis. I worked hard on my essays and I think that colleges really do take them into consideration! Good luck and don’t let one test get your hopes down!

Accepted Chemistry
34 ACT
4.4 GPA

*If you have any ?'s, comments, and concern feel free to inbox me!

accepted for neurology, physiology and behavior
GPA: 4.2
ACT: 29

@Soccergirl2232 Congratulations! That’s amazing. I have around the same stats as you, (26 ACT, and 4.12 GPA), and was so nervous applying to places because of my low ACT score. So far I have gotten into every school I have applied to as well and am still waiting to hear back from Cal Poly SLO, and other UCs. You are totally right, colleges are taking everything into consideration so others shouldn’t be discouraged because of one test.

@NoeG1027 The honors program shoots for 200 or so, and includes all the Regents scholars. Not sure how many invites they send out in the first wave, probably around 1000 Regents+honors. My son got in and likes it. The priority registration is amazing, plus many of the honors courses fit into his major (IR).

I was accepted into aerospace engineering. However, after I submitted my college app to UCs I changed my mind to biomedical engineering. Does anybody know how/if I can make that switch easily before actually going to Davis?

GPA: 4.3
SAT: 1320

Surprised to see I was rejected
4.1 UC GPA
32 ACT (33E 31M 35R 27S)

I thought my essays were really personal and well thought out. I would give them a solid 8.5/10
Applied for business administration

Do I still have hope for other UCs (specifically LA, B, SB, or SD)?

@popcornchips: You will need to attend your Freshman orientation this summer and meet with an academic advisor. Since both majors are in the same college it should not be an issue.

Here is the information to change majors; https://bme.ucdavis.edu/undergrad/advising/change-of-major/

Does anyone know when ucsd will come out? Thanks!

@happywaffles I really don’t think that the UCs only look at GPAs and test scores. It might’ve come down to what you discussed in your essays, how many awards you listed, how you explained your role in your extra curriculars, etc.

I got in, 33 ACT, 4.2 GPA
