under my admission → status, there is a Congratulations message where it states, Regents scholar and University honors
@stressedpauline: The acceptance rate is not 7.5%. If UC Davis is targeting an in-coming Freshman class of 5800 students, they will usually accept 3X that number since many applicants will not enroll. Each UC has a pretty good handle on their yield based on statistical data over the years, so they can predict how many accepted students will eventually SIR.
Here is last year’s data; Admit rate — Overall 43.6%
Admits: 30,945
Applicants: 70,968
California Residents (% of admits): 59.7%
So they admitted over 30,000 applicants to get to their target. If they are under enrolled, they will utilize the waitlist more heavily.

That makes so much sense. I should have read the email more diligently thanks!
@MelloG Thank you for the response! I will definitely be considering UC Davis because of their honors program!
Still waiting, it says decision pending
If you received an invitation to join the University Honors Program (UHP), I would highly recommend you look into joining: https://honors.ucdavis.edu/ . UHP is embedded in the University, it’s not a separate entity, and the students get the best of both worlds. About 200 Freshmen UHP students live in Currant Hall in Tercero. The friendships, classes, events and opportunities have been a great experience for our daughter.

@popcornchips my extracurriculars are decent: 2 varsity sports, piano, intern at allstate, working as a tutor, writing as a journalist for a local magazine promoting chinese cultural acceptance since 7th grade. In my essays, I wrote about being hardworking through running (it wasn’t cheesy, don’t worry), having anorexia then recovering from it and how i’m a better person now, being proud of my chinese culture and volunteering for that, and being creative by making my own clothes. I’m a really good essay writer (if I do say so myself) but I can’t help but to think that by writing about being Chinese and once having anorexia, it made me look average (for a chinese girl), and anorexia is a touchy topic so ahhh
@Jaloha, I was also accepted to Environmental Studies. And under similar circumstances as you.
