All good though. He’s in for stats at Cal Poly.

Does anyone know how many kids get in off the waitlist? You need to write a 200 word response on why you want to go.

My daughter was accepted! So so happy! UC Davis is her dream school since she was in first grade . After The struggles of last year everything paid off! I am so proud of my daughter and so happy for her!!! Congrats for everyone who got in!!!

@floppedover that certainly sounds like yield protection.

@Suave123 Congratulations to your D!!

@dtrinity2001 I’m still waiting on UCSC :frowning:

@ProfessorPlum168 I hope so…it makes me worried for the rest of the decisions to come out! I also haven’t heard from Cal poly yet.

@megaserindipity thank you and same to your daughter too !!!

I’m actually kind of stressed over being waitlisted, now I’m super super nervous for all the other UCs. Davis wasn’t a top choice, but it was the only one that I thought I was likely to get into. I mentioned this earlier but I had around a 4.08 capped GPA, 34 ACT, 5s on all my AP tests, and pretty good leadership roles in my opinion? I’m not sure if this is just yield protection or if I’m literally not getting into any UCs. At least I got into SLO which I’m excited for.

General Comments:
I’m grateful. For next year Davis applicants… Expect the unexpected.

I wouldn’t extrapolate much from today’s decisions. Each UC has their own acceptance criteria, independently. My kid last year got accepted to Berkeley but got waitlisted by UCSD and UCI, as an example. (Got accepted to UCD and UCSB as well). For those of you with high stats who got waitlisted, I wouldn’t fret too much, chances are you’ll get an acceptance to a equal or better school, and/or be amongst the first to clear waitlist.
