Are you still going to drive to davis, or are you firmly decided? I really do see them as very different in vibe and character. But I have to say when I visited I already had my mind set on its’ the middle of nowhere, blah blah, but it really is a fun vibrant college town. It did open my eyes to that. I think a person would enjoy thenselves there. It is just a bit isolated which could be an issue if you’re more a city girl. From what you’ve said I see you at UCLA, but just wondering if you’re going, so as to leave no stone unturned.
@autumnfairy Thanks for your input! Do you apply to other schools and receive different financial aid package? Many people said UCD give them more than other school, but UCD gives me the least :((
@statrans Yes I am. I actually not sure what’s you’re talking about because the class notation is different. I’m completing all math required by this spring. Imo, math classes would be needed no matter what pathway you choose, especially when it comes to upper division. If you plan to study further or double major in some comp science/engineering, you would need all math classes.
@lindyk8 Yeah, I do still plan to drive there and see. I’m pretty firm on UCLA but I’m definitely still interested in visiting Davis. I’ve heard it’s best not to make a firm decision until you’ve visited every campus. (:

Waitlisted to UC Davis
Major: environmental policy and planning
GPA: 3.83
Igetc: finished
Pre-reqs: 3 left
I am a transfer student who applied to UC Davis, I applied after my first year instead of after my second year and instead of the required 60 units I only have 50. I applied to UC Davis as an epap major which is one of the majors Davis lets people apply early to. I was just wondering if anyone could give me an opinion on what my chances of getting off the waitlist and admitted into UC Davis are. I really want to go to UC Davis
Just a note - I removed myself from UCD’s waitlist as I will be attending UCI. Hope this helps out someone else who wants to attend UCD more than I do!
Accepted
Foothill college transfer (over 90 units)
Managerial Economics Major
Gpa: 3.2
Igetc: complete
Major prep/core: complete
Ec: strong. Volunteer, tutor, charity, CS, clubs all three years at CC, work in rural Mexico. (Also a strong essay imo)
Result: Accepted! (around ~April 17th)
Major: Physics (B.S.)
Community College GPA: 3.56
UC Transferrable GPA: 3.51
IGETC: Yes
Pre-requisites: Missing ENG CS 30, my community college has the class I just didn’t take it.
Other/Notes: I had an odd kind of GPA trend, unfortunately mostly downward trending with a B in my 1st phys (after withdrawing from it the previous semester), 1st chem, and 2nd calc courses; while I got a C in my 2nd phys, 3rd calc, and diff. eq… This was on top of withdrawing from 4 courses (honors bio, 2nd chem, 1st phys, and communications) during my 3rd and 4th regular semesters. However, I obtained A grades in all my other courses/pre-reqs (including Bio for science major and IGETC courses), including during a 12 unit summer session between my 4th and 5th regular semesters.
I think my personal statements did a huge amount of muscle work, considering my downward trending GPA. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the admissions process or what I did for my application.
