Went out of state my first year, now living in San Diego.
Applied to Sac State as a back up since that’s the area where I’m from.
Kind of under estimated myself. Was worried if I was even going to get into SDSU and totally shocked by SLO and Davis. Applied to schools that have major as a way to narrow it down, but wishing I had applied to UCSB, UCSC and UCLA just for kicks.
Major: Computer Science
GPA : 3.7
IGETC: Finishing up as we speak so I’ll be certified before transferring
Pre Reqs: All done by the end of Spring 2016
Applied: UCSC, UCI, UCD, UCSD, UCB
Accepted: UCSC, UCI, UCD, UCSD
Rejected: None (yet lol)

I got undeclared in Marshall for UCSD though, so i’m not sure it’d be worth going there. Plus, I hear people get some really nice jobs in the tech industry from davis and irvine, plus the area’s are both nice and peaceful, so I’m likely to end up in one of those. Thoughts on SD btw? I’ve heard mixed opinions
Accepted!

I am looking to switch to Psychology (my actual major), since all of the pre-reqs for it I have them done. But for human development It was just randomly chosen and I don’t want to go over tons of pre-reqs again. If I switch to Psychology, I ll be a junior level after first quarter at UCD.
So who planned on going? Any ideas for housing plans? I liked the West Village, but IDK if Fin Aid covers it.
@dolpy1blue You should be able to see your financial aid award at UCSD before you submit an SIR. I’d contact them if it isn’t showing up for you in their admissions portal. It shows up for me.
Hey guys, if I press “skip” where they ask for my additional resources after I click on “My Awards” is it like indicating you don’t have any? I’m still waiting to hear from a private foundation and I don’t really know when they will release their decisions, so I might have some or I might not. Until then, how am I supposed to see if I got any awards from Davis? Thanks!
@szafir Yes every time you log into myawards, the additional resources page will pop up, if you hit skip. So hit skop to see your current award. and when you hear back just fill it out and submit it.
@plebsunite If you read your acceptance E-mail carefully, it tells us to watch out for an official letter with materials in the “mail”. So it indicates that they are sending a packet in the mail. Btw, If any of you receives it, please notify us.
@androidani Davis is one of the most respected schools in the country. As for Computer Science, I hear Irvine is stronger. That because at Irvine CS has its own department or something and Irvine really puts lots of effort into their gaming/tech/CS research which may be a good reason to skip over Davis and go there. As for me, I am pre-med and Davis is a hot bullet in the medical field, so that would be my reason for going to Davis over Irvine (Also looking for the college town). now choice is yours overall!
Looking to hear some feedback between UCD’s and UCSD’s Economics department. Which one is better? Why? Which school offers better internships and future jobs? Any insight would be great! Thanks!
Only UCSC. Still waiting for Berk tho it’s a far reach. But I’m sticking between UCD and UCSD. Not really sure about their Econ programs. I know I’m leaning more towards SD because of the overall campus feel but that should not be an overwhelming reason for why I would SIR to SD. And honestly I don’t care about their rankings. I just need more info on their Econ program.
@dolpy1blue Well, I think in this case, It goes back to which atmosphere you like better. Which is closer to you? In terms of academics they are both equal. But atmosphere and environment is totally different. if you are a social person, then i will recommend Davis. But if you are not social, and love the ocean, then ill recommend SD. Fo economics, SD may be a good choice if its easier to reach from ur side. remember Davis is in a total different part of California. You might want to research into each ones econ department and look what they offer. But hey! if Berekely takes you, then definitely it will prepare you well in the subject.
