UC Davis or BU: Biomedical Engineering

I deposited at both schools because I am incredibly indecisive.
At Davis I originally applied for Food Science, and at BU I applied for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. However, I’d like to switch majors to BME for both schools.

I know at BU you can just email them and ask to switch majors, and at UCD I have to wait a quarter before submitting a petition to change.
I’m an international student so I can pay for both, BU is just a tad bit more expensive.
Honestly, I just want to do well during my first year and then try and transfer to a better school now that I know I want to major in BME.

Things I dislike about BU: I enjoy city life but I’m not a fan of how the campus is spread through the city, I have heard that BU finals are one of the hardest and that grade deflation/curves are quite intense there (which might impact me negatively if I’m trying to get a very good GPA to transfer), some of the housing is terrible.
Things I like about BU: The BME program is highly ranked and this might help me in terms of transfer, I love the city, etc wtv.
But I’d also like to point out that though there are physical things I dislike about BU, they aren’t as important as I’m primarily going to focus on my grades to transfer.

UCD: I don’t know how easy it will be for me to change majors, and it is not as highly ranked so that might impact my transfer, I like the campus but Davis is quite secluded and I enjoy urban environments. Of course, it is a great engineering school, but particularly BME is better at BU, I think?

Which school should I attend considering all of the above?

BME at BU is extremely selective and not an automatic change of major.

Also if either school discovers that you double posted both schools may rescind your acceptance! That is not allowed.

I double deposited due to special circumstances that the schools are aware of. And I know plenty of people who emailed admission and immediately got to switch to BME.

Then email admission now and ask to switch. Those applicants may have been considered very competitive to begin with.

Ok…this is silly. you might as well take a gap year and apply to schools that you want for BME. You’re not likely going to be able to transfer into a “better school” after one year. You’d be applying with only one semester’s worth of grades. What are your HS stats? Those would also be considered.

What “better” schools are you considering?

BTW…what is your career goal with BME?
