I'm accepted by both, want to know if there is much of a difference since they're both UCs? or is one better at history than the other? Thanks.

I am going to be brutally honest with you: there’s no difference.

I am a History major at San Diego State and you know what? There’s no difference between the lectures I have and the ones I watch on Academic Earth (Ivy leagues). Those who are dedicated to learn will learn no matter who teaches.

In considering the debate between which school is better consider their locations and environment. UCD is in a college town; the history program will probably be more oriented with agriculture and North Cal (though of course they have the typical U.S. history and European history concentrations). UC Santa Cruz is also in a college town-ish…I mean it’s on the Pacific and tourism is strong (tourism in Davis not so much). I am going to say they are equally good (though I would choose UCSC) but UCD has historically had better rankings.
