hmm I got into both of these great schools and UC Davis is by far the top UC on my list. It seems logical to go with USC but I really like what UCD has to offer and the environment any suggestions? Im a comm. major btw I was accepted into Annenberg and communication for UCD

USC for sure

USC all the way, I got waitlisted at Stanford, and even if by some random miracle I actually got in, (hypothetically speaking say I got into USC too) I would so pick USC over Stanford.

Plus Annenberg is a great communications school, and just think of all the Trojan connections you'll make!

USC of course!!!

why USC? i know the rankings are higher but so is the tuition

i was hoping for some type of scholarship but i didn't get any so USC is going to be 45k while UCD is 20k

u expect to get a DAVIS answer on an usc board? LOl

this is true, but even without a scholarship their need-based aid is often enough to equalize the price of the schools. of course their need-based package includes some loans, but not usually in excess of a couple thousand, and the rest they cover with ridiculously high grants.

Funny question to ask on USC board LOL. Pick the school that feels the best for you! Major, financial, social etc. Visit both again if you are not sure. Just my opinion.

my thoughts on tuition are that if the more expensive school IS the better school (i dont know anyrhing about UCD), and will give you better connections and job opps after college, you might just make up the difference over te years post college

just spend a day at UCD and a day at USC and look at the students hanging out and headed for the busses....a friend of our family teaches english at UCD and she says I shoud avoid UCD if I have a better option. UCD has a lot to offer but the students aren't as strong...compare the stats and school spirit!

I would say USC as well. USC is a better school, both rankings and reputation wise, and its alumni network can do wonders for your career post-graduation.

But of course everyone in here is biased towards SC, so I would suggest posting the same thread in the UC Davis boards and see what they say.

also, i have several friends at UCD and it seems like the student life there doesn't even approach that at USC's. not only is USC much stronger academically (as well as providing amazing connections later down the line), but there's always something to do when you're not doing work.

i think what the school has to offer academically and connections play a big part, but it also depends a lot on which school you would be happier spending 4 years at. have you been to both USC and UCD?

All my cousins and most of my church friends went to Davis, since it's the 2nd closest UC to me.

I recommend you take a look around the campus. I personally didn't like Davis because the city of Davis itself was boring.

If you can afford USC, I recommend USC, especially since you got into Annenberg. I think the extra cost of tuition will help you out in the long run when you start applying for jobs.

what!!!! usc hands down! I probably got rejected from usc, but i got accepted to davis but I would never go there. it's SUPER BORING. believe me. and I don't like the cold either so if you're a socal/beach kinda person I wouldn't suggest going there

well at USC i believe ill just be wall flower and everyone else would be as talented if not more talented than i am i think UCD could be a good place to continue to build on my self-esteem

off campus housing is easier and less expensive at UCD....if you like bikes and intramural sports you'll love UCD
