UC Davis Rejection

Thanks everyone for your advice and help on this case. I just got my acceptance email to UC Santa Cruz and was wondering which college is better UC santa cruz or San Jose State for computer science

Also, for some reason I have not heard back from Cal poly SLO or Pomona

D sat 2200 gpa 4.3 excellent EC’s strong essays waitlist at both Davis and UCSD.
Just the luck of the draw sometimes…

If your friend is passionate about receiving an education from UC Davis, then I suggest you tell him to appeal. My sister was rejected from Davis, but her passion for her prospective major (Wildlife, Fish, & Conservation Biology) shined through her appeals process. She appealed and was then accepted. Interestingly enough, she met MANY other students that also successfully appealed and were accepted. I think reason behind this is that UC Davis, (and other schools) realize that they want students that REALLY, REALLY want to attend their school, even after being rejected. This perseverance might give your friend the chance to be accepted by UC Davis after appealing. As a current sophomore at UC Davis, I couldn’t love it anymore! Tell your friend to take action for his future and start the appeals process!

When I was applying to colleges, I was accepted to UC Davis and UC San Diego, but rejected by UC Irvine. You can never really quite tell what they are looking for. Best of luck!

Sorry for your friend, my sat score was 1370 and my act was only 19. But I got accepted to Davis and my gpa is only 3.8. UC rejects people for various reasons. Maybe they didn’t like your friend’s personal statement?
