UC Davis Single Dorms in Tercero?

Right now I am split between going to UCSB and Davis, but leaning more towards Davis. I was hoping to be able to get a single. At Davis I really liked the new buildings in the Tercero Area. Do they have singles in those buildings? If not, how are the singles in Leach
?

the “newer” dorms, kearney and laben, do not have singles. the “older” ones i think have some

it looks like the tercero dorms opening this fall mite have a few single spaces

dont know much about leach beach, that is where the parents stay during orientation.

Leach is pretty antisocial. I can see myself dying of boredom at nights when there is nothing to do. There is a common area for Leach residents with a piano, pool table, and I think a TV. So all is not lost… haha. You’ll still have neighbors and you will be sharing a shower and bathroom with them, so there will still be interaction between people, even though they are single dorms.

There is also a plus side of not being annoyed by a roommate. You’ll avoid common annoyances such as your roommate sleeping too late, snoring, bringing people over, etc.

Lastly, when I visited my friend who lived in Leach, I noticed his lights were pretty dim. It felt depressing in his room, but that may have just been his. There is also no view other than a parking lot, and if you’re lucky, the Tercero convenient store “Trudy’s”.

Again, we don’t get to choose which residence hall we live in. All transfers who decide to live in residence halls are confined to Castillian Hall in Cuarto, unfortunately: http://www.housing.ucdavis.edu/prospective/transfers_2010_RH.asp

^they r closing castilian this spring

there are oncampus and offcampus apartments for transfers

buttt they r finishing new res halls for fall as well to make up for closing castilian. so maybe you can live in the normal dorms? idk
