If there is a chance that I am going to be missing one of the required classes, is there any point in doing a TAG? The class (physics 4D: quantum mechanics and special relativity) is only offered once a year at my community college, so I’m not sure if I would make it in. This is for electrical engineering.
Are you not going to take it at all, or is it just that you might not make it into the class?
If its the latter, I’d still list it. If you don’t get in, just send them an email and let them know when that happens.
No harm in applying. If the course is not offered, they might allow you in. Be sure to note in comments. If you’re saying it will be offered and you didn’t get in, then that’s another issue. Personally, I would send an email to tag advisor and ask.
Anyway, worse case, you’re rolled over to regular admission. On the other hand, if you’re assured a TAG somewhere else, and this is iffy after you speak with TAG advisor, you may want to TAG somewhere else, depending on your assessment.
I will try to take it, but I am just worried about not being able to take it if it gets full. I took lyndk8’s advice and emailed the transfer department at UCD, who told me that the class must be completed to receive a TAG. So I think I will TAG to a university that does not require it as a safety, and apply normally to UCD.
See if you can find the course at another CC or on-line.
Good luck
