Help Me Understand TAG [UCD]

Hi, I'm currently a freshman at a CC and I'm lost. I want to transfer to UC Davis via TAG, but I don't completely understand what I need to do. I'm trying to complete the track for Physics. I have looked that the major requirements via assist.org and I understand that UCD requires two English composition classes.

Here are the Physics major requirements aside from the two English courses:
Two CS courses
Math:
-Calculus I , II , II (3 courses total)
-Intro to Linear Algebra
-Differential Equations
Chemistry (2 courses)
Physics (3 courses)

I want to transfer in two years, but by the time I complete all these courses, I'll have 79 units.

My questions are:

Do I have to worry about the GE requirements other than the two English comp. courses?
Can I transfer right after getting 60 units, even if it means I have not completed my major requirement?
Will I be approved for TAG without having a plan to complete all of my major requirements? Keep in mind that I will be close to 80 units by then.
I've read about the TAG, but I was hoping someone here had answers to my dilemma.

You really need to set up an appointment with your transfer counselor at your cc. I transferred to Davis this fall with a TAG. I had 2 separate counselors at my cc helping me through the process. All cc’s have counselors, granted some are better than others, but there should be a counselor at your school to help you. You will be submitting the TAG application next Sept. And will fill out the regular UC application as well in Nov. Read all you can about TAG as it pertains to Davis. Go to the UC Davis website and read about TAG there. I believe it is best if you have been IGETC certified, meaning ALL your lower division GE requirements are done. You may not be able to complete all your major pre reqs as many cc’s do not have all the lower division classes required for every major. But you must finish all your first 2 years GE requirements. For some majors, following the IGETC plan is not the best way to go that is why you need to speak with a counselor. Find the counseling center on your campus and see if they have a transfer center. they should. Get in there and get your plan set up. If you have a good counselor you can meet with them regularly and make sure you are on track. Good Luck!

UC Davis has a TAG counselor assigned to every CCC. You can find yours at [UC Davis : TAG Contact List](More Information).
