The major you want is not offered at your current UC

I’ve been reading endless threads about UC Intercampus Transfers and I’m as lost as when I started. Here’s what I know so far, to be considered competitive for transfer, you must get at least a 3.7 GPA, complete your major prerequisites, complete your GEs in order to qualify for UC reciprocity and that’s all I know. As far as ECs are concerned, I’m not sure how involved must I be in order to increase my chances. This is my first quarter at UC Davis, and as much as I love the huge open spaces, the teachers here are not as motivated and passionate as they are in UC Berkeley. You can definitely sense the difference if you were to visit both places. The sense of community at UC Berkeley is the strongest I’ve seen. Nonetheless, UC Davis is a good school, but it’s just not the place I want to be for four years. With the quarter system, I also feel like there is not enough time to really sink your mind into the stuff you’re learning, which makes it a really lifeless experience. I’m not sure if these are reasons that are compelling enough. I’m an international student, and my dad has just entered his retirement, in addition to out-of-state fees, living costs are extremely high. If I were to attend Berkeley, I would be living with my aunt in San Francisco, which would lift part of the financial burden off my dad’s shoulders, leaving behind more for my two younger siblings when they enter college. I need to know more about this process because I really wanna transfer. Thanks
