@BumblebeeCW That’s right. Hence, the form supposedly pops up if you aren’t accepted. But, because the process could take until the end of the month, waitlisters who haven’t heard yet should wait for a definite, official response one way or another.
@BumblebeeCW People rejected after being on the waitlist can appeal the decision at that time, not while still waitlisted.
I was granted admission off of the waitlist yesterday
Major: Biological Sciences
GPA: 3.5
I believe they will be waiting 7 days to release the next wave because they gave yesterday’s batch 7 days to respond to their offer.
Goodluck, everyone! I wish you all the best. Just keep swimming!
Oh I see what you mean now! @DavisCowsRule did you have that message?
@BumblebeeCW Yes, I checked for it just before I received the news of being admitted.
ACCEPTED
Around 4pm
Major: marine and coastal science
gpa: 3.04
@Xenomorph congrats!!! I hope u have a wonderful time at Davis. Just wondering! Did u receive an email or did u just check?
@callieaustin Admissions does not announce all the acceptances at once for those waitlisted because some people offered admittance have already SIRed to a different university (stayed on UCD’s waitlist until they finally made up their minds where to go), and might turn down UCD’s offer - thus opening slots for others still on the waitlist. The process can take all month…
@DavisCowsRule Do you know if admissions will be accepting people off the waitlist based on your 200 word statement or space in each college?
I think the space available within a particular major is by far the most important factor, followed by how well your GPA turned out after Spring 2015 and that prerequisites have been finished. Admissions states that beyond those factors, they look at your overall application again, as well as the 200 word essay. This small essay is used to get an idea of you beyond your application’s essays, which are often written for many other universities besides UCD. The 200 word essay was your opportunity to tell UCD why you would fit into its campus and Davis’s community, what you have to offer UCD as a student, and why you think they are the best fit for your goals. It helps in writing the essay if you actually know something about the campus, the particular major and its courses at UCD you have applied to study, the faculty members and their research, and campus life (Aggie stuff) - to get specific. The essay is one last opportunity to stand out as an individual out of hundreds of applicants.
@adorkablemish Thanks, I received an email.
@Xenomorph Thanks for the information! @DavisCowsRule Thank you too!! At least I get an idea of how they’re going to select and accept
@adorkablemish I went into a little detail about the 200 word essay not so much for this year’s waitlisters (too late now), but maybe if 2016’s waitlisted people read this thread and need some ideas for writing their essays. Oh, and be sincere when writing the essay - really mean what you write.
I was accepted for clinical nutrition on the 5th around 4pm yuppyyyyy!!!
@lolajoe what’s your GPA?
Has anyone from Computer Science got off the waitlist?
@callieaustin I’m currently at a 3.0 without my spring grades in and I’ve also completed the majority of my prerequisites, all but two classes; the second half of chemistry and comm.
Has any psychology major been accepted yet?
@chocoPie99 I’m a computer Science Major, I’m still waiting as well :(.
@faby9467 I wonder if they’re releasing the acceptances by major
