Hey guys, I'm new here but I'm transferring from CC and I've been accepted to UC Davis and UCSB for sociology and I'm really struggling with the decision. Which one is better for my major? I like the coast, I'm pretty social but don't like to party that much, and I know UCSB is a good school, but does Davis look better on paper considering all the partying stories I hear about SB (OnlyinIV.com etc) Also, I plan to go to grad school after undergrad, not sure if that helps.

Thanks everyone!

Between these 2, the school name itself isn’t going to make a difference in your future. What you do while enrolled will.

If you let your grades suffer because you go to too many parties, or if you don’t enjoy your time there because of the environment, then UCSB isn’t right for you. But fundamentally if you study and do well in classes, go to office hours so you get to know some profs so that you get strong and personal recs, then you will be fine from either school.

If you have time, I suggest you go and visit both schools.
