i am the only girl here??? hahahahha
who likes south park? this semester at berkeley they are offering a student ran course on south park.

They are going to teach a course about south park? Is this a sociology course?

i guess it's geared toward social issues addressed in south park. it's one of my favorite shows, and i wanted to take it, but i want to keep my schedle clear for other stuff like research, etc. im also teaching a student-ran course this semester, and if i like doing that, maybe i'll ask if i can teach that course next semester or maybe a course on 24!

you're teaching a course? on what?

the course is called "concentration on graduate schools in psychology." basically, how to be a compettive applicant for ph.d, psy.d. ma programs. i wont' be teaching about my experiences obviously, since i'm not even a grad student yet, but it is basted on the guidance of one of my former professors, staff, and current graduate students at Cal.

is the class for credit or is it a 1 unit class (do you assign grades)?

2 units, and yes, i (and my friend who is teaching with me) will evaluate work and assign grades.

is this a sit in class? I'd like to learn about PsyD programs.

UCLA and UCB(93 days to go)...

UCSD and UCSB(46 days to go)...

Wow, how did you get that gig Calgirl?

Actually it's not that uncommon of a thing. I had two guys in one of my history classes last quarter who were doing the same thing.

no it's quite common for undergrads to teach....all of my gen. chem TAs are 2nd and 3rd year kiddos

i just jumped at the opportunitiy as soon as the former coordinator of the class who asked who would like to teach it. if you are ever on berkeley's site, look up "de-cal"

wow, really? at my school only graduate school students teach discussion sessions...

oh, this isnt a discussion session. it's just a class in itself.

but for those considering going to grad school, teaching looks good on your application.

calgirl, i hope u don't grade hard or assign too much work :)

okay professor cal_girl =) hehe
