hobo, I hope you are not implying that you are going to be commuting to college from that far away.

To answer your question, I'd say it would realistically take 1.5 hours at the most. Also, it depends on what time of the day you commute. If you commute during peak traffic hours (7-9, 5-7) then it would take 1.5 - 1.75 hours to get to your destination. If you go in between the peak traffic hours then I'd say 1 hour is about right.

I'm not sure if I wanna sign up a TAG for UCSD .. do you think it's worth it? Since I probably get all of my lower division courses done by Spring 2007 .. and apply for Fall 2007 .. so .. I don't really need TAG right? Also TAG guaranteed you to be accepted into the school but not that major .. so what's the point of singing up for it?

Kinda feels like New Years eve all over again. I don't know if I want to read it online or wait for the letter. I suppose it's more formal like waitng for the latter.

UCR is a nice school (good people, decent professors, semi-attractive campus) but it's a solid safety. If you can get into a Cal-State you can get into UCR. I got back a scholoar ship for that shool last week (will pay for most of my first year, yippie) and while it feels nice, I know that I will be unsatisfied since I already go to RCC (Riverside cc, a feeding tube for UCR). To be cliche, 'I need to get away.'

it feels like senior year all over again, except less chilling with friends and more worrying about school since this is basically our last shot at a decent undergrad.

For UCSD, you are admitted without regard to major (based on campuswide criteria). For the selective majors, engineering for instance, you are then routed to the engineering department for acceptance into the major. If they decline you, then you go into a different major.

aren't there a lot of former UCR people at RCC? i know a couple people from freshman year that got kicked out and are attending RCC right now...

That would suck not being admited to the major. That would tack on additional expense for the extra 1.5 years it takes to fullfill the prereqs

Some. Not many. RCC is useless if you've already started upperdivision course work OR started a UC Gen Ed. All the UCR dropouts here are ususally former fresman.

RCC's once of the bigger CC in so cal so we get all types. Even had a graduating CAL (Berkeley) student in one of my courses. Needed to fill a spanish req before they gave her the degree.

Yeah, but it fits most of the time. 2.7's and .8's get in all the time with no EC or employment.

Doesn't make it a "bad" school or cal-state quality, just easier to get in and prove yourself. If I didn't live in Riverside it would be a major consideration, taking into account the free first year.
