UC decision dates...

"i took my own day off on monday... just didn't feel like going to class. finals in 2 weeks, hopefully i get some good news beforehand."

Wow, you have finals at this time of the year? Well, you do go to a university that is on a quarter system so that would explain why. I just find it weird how each semester on a quarter system is so short!

the quarter system really grows on you. I was used to the two semesters/ year after highschool but i quickly got adjusted. I especially like it because it supports cramming. It's a lot easier to study 4 weeks of material in 1 day (midterms) vs 8 weeks. Also, classes go by fast so if you don't like a professor you won't have to put up with him/her for a whole 16 weeks.

thanks iAmApprehensive and highschoolda. =) i have enjoyed staying on this board to see you all go through this process, and i think this is a great place to get support and someone to listen to how anxious you are feeling. man...i remember how overwhelmingly scared i was every semester at my old school...it was crazy, thinking how one "slip up" could "cost" me my dream school. and their making you wait months after you apply drove me crazy! partly because during that time, i was thinking about every single minute detail.

i am almost feeling the same apprehension as you guys at this point =) weird huh?

Davis: March 15-April 30 (7 days to go)
San Diego: March 15-April 30 (7 days to go)
Santa Barbara: March 15-April 30 (7 days to go)
Santa Cruz: March 15-April 30 (7 days to go)

Los Angeles: April 30->> (53 days to go)
Berkeley: May 1 (54 days to go)

Irvine: March 1-April 30 (BEGUN)
Merced: March 1-March 31 (BEGUN)
Riverside: March 1-April 30 (BEGUN)

I love the countdown guys...

I like how many of us have taken turns updating the countdown...It feels like we are passing on an Olympic torch of sorts.

Yay I got into UC Irvine! lol Its nice to be accepted :-) Hopefully Cal or UCLA next!

congratulations willdo

Thanks ^_^

First off... WillDO congrats on UCI!

Second... Not that many people from last year did end up sticking around. Honestly this site does lose much of it's fun after you've started school, there really is not much reason to come back here. If you're now all wondering why I still hang around here, there is a reason. I'm actually spending much of my time on the Law School board, since I've got to go through that admissions process (which is far more worse than undergrad mind you) in a couple of months. I just grew fond of this part of the paticular board and keep coming back.

congrats will...UCI is a great school in a very nice area. Definately a very good safety.

Hey so is the workload at UCLA about the same as a CCC or more/less? How are the upper-division classes different? How well did you do in CCC and now at UCLA? Is it as competative as everyone keeps saying?

congrats wildo!

allena, are you going to be doing an honors thesis?

Thanks again guys, hopefully it's just the beginning of a string of acceptances for me and everyone else. If I get into Cal, I'll buy you lunch Calgirl :-)

long time viewer first time poster.

anyway i checked out the ucsb site today and this showed up.

Freshman applicants will be notified of admission decisions on this site on March 17 at 5 pm PST.

Transfer applicants will be notified of admission decisions on this site between March 17 at 5 pm PST and May 1.

a little longer for the transfers, but then again more concrete.

now back to slacking off in this crappy semester.

Yep, verified, thanks for the heads-up, Jon. We can now change the countdown for Santa Barbara.

Ha, I wonder how many of us will still be checking and reloading UCSB's site on March 15. Maybe we'll be busy with the other ones and won't exemplify our neurosis.

the wait is the hardest part...

yea dude waiting is horrible, its taking a toll on me. then as i looked on this website and the forums, it is not-suprisingly taking a toll on all of us.

i really just want to know so i can plan stuff out, i know must of us had these past couple years at ccc already planned out and now that we dont know where we'll be at the end of the year it makes us crazy.

soon we will know. argh.....

I just don't like waiting so long for Berkeley and UCLA. I don't get why they have to wait until May to start. I want my rejection NOW!

yeah i wanan be rejected now so i can drink my sorrows away.

UCSD sooner than SB? Oh well.

gabe, is there one site that lists all the decision dates? THe reason I am asking is my buddy wanted to know. thanks.
