UC decision dates...

more than half of SMC counselors are useless b/c they know less than what posters here know. Not to mention they are lazy as ****. I spoke to maybe 8 different ones in my two years at cc.

As for reps, I've spoke to three different ones in my two years, i don't know if they have no idea what they are talking about, or maybe some of the things that UCLA does are just not written.

That is a very helpful link (the Cabrillo one), Matt. The ETS conference is a great source--you can actually find the materials presented at the conference online.

Wow, Matt! Thanks for the Cabrillo link! As gabe said, it is very helpful.

Very useful link; by the way, what is UC San Fransisco?

"3.5 min GPA for Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, History and English."

Yup, just as their transfer stats for 2005 said.

I think it is strictly a pharmacy school? Someone correct me if I am wrong. I am just speculating here.

it also has one of the top Med schools, dentistry, u name it.

Oh damn...I think my chances at UCLA and Berkeley just dropped dramatically. I have a 3.68 and I'm applying as a psych major. I'm not much above the minimum GPA...

well willdo it all depends. i know a guy who got in with a 3.2 as a PSYCH major (which is VERY impacted here). he had other qualities they really liked. a rep told me that they also really look at your demonstrated interests in the field.

What do you mean? You almost have a 3.7 GPA. LOL.

Doh! lol I know you're trying to help me be optomistic there Calgirl but my "interest" essay wasn't that great either. arrggg, I was feeling so confident one hour ago!

True Nikkei, but a 3.68 is still just a 3.6...so I'm only .1 above the minimum....not looking good.

Well, if you think of it that way it does not look like much. A 3.8 is only .3 above the average GPA of admits, yet it is a VERY competitive GPA amongst all applicants. It's all in how you perceive it.

but a .3 is three times more than a .1 above the average!

WillDO, since you are psycho major, you probably know the concept of "perception" right... sometimes we can look at the matters with many different angles and we better off view them with a positive light.

he called you a psycho.

Yea, but that's because I am one.

me too, well at least this wait is going to make me one.

hehe. So you guys think a 3.68 is still good even tho the minimum is 3.5?
