Every councelor and advisor I've talked to has told me that UCs give priority to transfer students from ccc first...

"No, i think he's a uc student trying to transfer and thinking he's bigger and badder if he gets into UCLA and if a student from CCC gets into UCLA..."
This is a testament to your ignorance.

That was a guess, btw. And, everything you've said so far has turned out to be wrong.

Thats where the data comes in. And that's where the state policy for UC transfer students comes in.

A Pirate's Life is not for me.

That's not good enough gabe. I want to see equal comparisons between UC students and CCC students. Students from both groups with identical GPAs and qualification. Then we will see who got in, and who didn't. I am directly challenging the "priority transfer list" as being fallacious and misleading.

I'm a UC transfer from UCSD and applied to CAL and UCLA. I'm pretty sure that CCC students get priority over UC students. Sorry mate.

Hey fellow Triton!

Good luck :)

That makes at least five (myself included) ucsd ppl wanting to transfer...

Hi futebolista. Are you transferring too?

only to Cal ...keeping my fingers crossed ;)

good luck to you too!

BTW sorry for hitting the beehive with a stick.

If I can somehow obtain the complete case-by-case statistics, I could prove that UC transfers share at least equal, if not advantageous, priority with CCC transfers. Just because UC policy says CCC is supposed to get priority doesn't mean that's how it always goes down. I'm willing to bet dollars to pennies that the 61% or so UC students who did not get in to UCLA were not up to standard. Whereas if you are coming from a CCC, they don't even let you apply unless you meet at least the minimum requirements. The numbers you see on the above posts are skewed, and incomplete. The data available does not tell the whole truth, and it should be challenged every step of the way. Any respectable scientist or mathematician will tell you so. I have no vested interest either way. I just have a hunch, and I want to know the truth.

which UC do you go to pirate?

well, i hope you're right because i'm intercampus and i really want to get out.

I attend a CCC; however, I have applied to UCLA and gone through the admissions process twice. Last year I turned down offers to UCSD, UCI, UCSB, and USC, so that I could try for UCLA again. I have heard every song and dance there is regarding the admissions process. From counselors, to professors, to dept heads; I have heard and seen it all. If you are competitive and properly qualified I think your chances are very good.

has anyone heard anything from UCSD?

I think i am not going to check again until April 1st.

This morning I checked and got into UCI. Phew, at least I know I got in somewhere. This is the 1st of 6 decisions...finally!
