UC Essays Word Count

<p>Is the absolute max 1,000? If my essays are 660 / 280 / 280 = 1,220, is that OK? I will try to cut them down still, but I am unsure about the rules...</p>

<p>The rules are more like "guidelines". Just cut out extraneous information, repetitive adjectives, use of "that" excessively, etc.</p>

<p>Yes, but aside from the word count, you need to at least ask yourself if you wrote your essay in such a way where it only answers the question in a clear and concise manner. You don't necessarily need to use fanciful wording unless it's imagery/metaphors/analogies that help the reader understand better.</p>

<p>yeah i understand and i will certainly try to cut it down. just wanted to make sure i wasn't obligated to put in under the 1k limit. :)</p>
