Hi everyone, I currently a freshman at UCSC and really want to transfer to UCLA or UCI. Has anyone recently transferred within UC system who can give some advise as what to do. I know that the priority transfers goes to CC students, but if there is a chance, I like to explore it. Thank you.
My friend’s daughter transferred from UCR to UCI after 1st year. Another girl was able to transfer from UCSC to UCB. So I believe it’s doable.-
Normally it takes 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units to transfer to a UC, even UC to UC. Your friend’s daughter, who transferred after 1 year from UCR to UCI, probably earned enough AP credits or other credits to have the 90 quarter units to transfer to UCI.
Transferring to UCLA will be a tougher task. You’ll probably need at least a 3.7+ GPA, or higher for a competitive major such as computer science or engineering. If you are counting on AP credits, UCLA generally allows AP credits for passing score of 4 or 5.
