UC IRVINE, because not everyone gets into UCSD

to honkforcookies: Awesome man! I really hope you enjoy your time at either UCI or UCSD. Congratulations on your acceptances =].

to theripcurl1969: You, sir, are in a terrible position. I'm sorry man :. I would get so angry at my parents...

alicantekid/crimsonpham:

oh i could really care less about your feelings of pride for choosing irvine over sd. there is no need to prove it to me, youve got me convinced. as long as you are happy

i simply had hopes to inspire some sort of caltech v mit rivalry between the uc's.

if you two had known any better you would realize that

"uc irvine: because not everyone can go to ucsd"
is my version of the
"MIT: because not everyone can go to caltech" tshirt

way to pull out the vocab. it's cool i use thesaurus.com, too
i almost want to say that if you used that kind of language in the sat essay, you wouldve scored high enough for cal. maybe.
wait, i just said it

Funny. I didn't think there was much high vocabulary. Did you really think so?

Oh BTW, calm yourself excitedscared.

yeah, UC rivalry is a neat idea. but a ucd v. uci rivalry is more appropriate, i

think, since both schools are comparable in terms of academics and

popularity. ucsd v. uci seems a bit unfair. and the essay portion of the SAT is

kinda worthless -- you can achieve high results with a formulaic answer.

? haha,
im calm.

what you are saying, pham- is that an accepted universal-ity, does include that fact that the quote is true. "to an extent"

what you are arguing for.. ineffectively and illogically, is that there are rare cases when it cannot be applied universally.

giving the quote validity in that you believe it to be true.

doraemon: formulaic, it may be. but did you score a 12? if not, maybe you shouldve touched up on your formulaic writing.

friends?

only because you made it relevant, i did get into cal. and yes i did turn that school down also to go to uci. of course it doesn't matter; you merely "had hopes to inspire some sort of caltech v mit rivalry between the uc's."

kTHNXbye~!

Turning down a school for a "lower" school is not rare. I take it you haven't seen many people do this. Such innocence ;].

Receiving a 12 on the SAT1 essay is not hard. You don't need high vocabulary at all.

Seriously, excitedscared, where are you coming from?

actually, i did. and kudos for turning down Cal, pham -- i wouldn't though, if i got in.

Meh..that rivalry won't happen.

Another happy Anteater who turned down ucsd and cal checking in : )

that was pointless

That's true for some people, I guess. But then a LOT of people who get into more prestigious UCs still choose Irvine. Don't be so narrow-minded.

In my opinion, that statement's hilarious (reguardless of the fact that it's not true).

Nothing against the school, but it's the same exact thing I said to my english teacher in hopes of being funny when he asked me why UCI. Thats probably why I think it's funny, and why others wouldn't.
