@StevenToCollege Dang that’s crazy! But couldn’t think also go the other way around? If they make you wait longer, then you start to loose interest. Tbh I don’t know what their marketing strategies are, but most of us worked really hard for this and we at least deserve a specific date!!!
Rejected at Davis, waitlisted at San Diego, Accepted at Merced. I really hope I get into Irvine. Otherwise, I don’t know what I’ll do for my future.
It seems that it’s a characteristic of UCI… In the Class of 2018 thread, someone was complaining too:
“How can Irvine do this wave by wave method… every UC had the same amount of time to review the applicants and each decided on a date to ship out the acceptances… I do not understand how one school can have such a intolerable system…” [March 18th 2014, 6:11PM]
(And yes, I’m so anxious that I’m reading the Class of 2018 thread…)
@stormlife I got the same e-mail a few weeks back and I thought the same as you haha, but I’m not too sure if that means we’re likely to get admitted or not. That e-mail gave me a ray of hope though haha.

@spat77 I didn’t apply to Davis, but people with lower stats than me at my school got in. I think it’s because my school is close to Davis so a lot of kids feed from my school to Davis, and also because of Upward Bound…anyways I did get rejected from SD.
Stats: GPA: 3.86 (Horrendous, I Know lol)

Essays: I’ve been told they were excellent. Talked about how my experiences with domestic violence, homelessness, and depression helped me gain determination in order to uplift myself from my experiences, and how these experiences changed my view of the world. For the second prompt I talked about how band helped me find myself and connect with my inner emotions.
I got the Supplemental Questionnaire from both UCSD and UCLA. They asked for my first semester grades and I had a 4.3. They also asked me to expand on the stuff I wrote in my essays.
I bet UCI admissions is reading this and cackling to themselves right now. Ugh they already made their decisions, can they just release them?? It doesn’t help that a friend and I made a bet depending whether or not we get in (I know, not the smartest idea LOL) and time is running outttttt. admissions, pls take pity upon our poor restless souls

I got straight up rejected from UCD, but still waiting on UCLA, UCI, and UCSD. Idek… I probably will get rejected by all of them because I suck :(, but since I haven’t gotten anything from the other 3 yet, there’s still a tiny bit of hope… PLEASE LET ME IN, SENPAI!!

do you guys think UCI will give us the day when decisions will be released…? or will they just get released tomorrow? I heard somewhere that they could come out on the same day as UCSB, which is tomorrow.
