Okay, let’s calm down. There is a date, and it’s the 31st of March. I’m not gonna log in to the admission portal before that… I’m sick of this joke! They’re obviously teasing us. I think this is unacceptable from a renowned institution like UCI.
COME ON UCI! Give us the results!! Otherwise just kill us!

HAHA so Irvine will probably release after LA AND Berkeley? Who do they think they are, Stanford?

The more and more I think, the more it kind of makes since. We keep saying “Irvine is not UCLA or Berkeley” and that is exactly what is the problem. They arent staffed to handle this amount of applications. Thats my justification. Now I can sleep for 4 minutes

This might also shed some light on why it’s taking so long… I guess they just don’t know how many they can afford to admit.

Personally I feel that with UCI’s effort into building a strong medical program and a top notch UC campus, it too is also being very selective with their acceptance standards. Other than Regent, CHP and URMs (which came out long ago), they probably spent more time into finding better students that would actually enroll after acceptance. Even though their acceptance are on rolling basis, I would guess that they would come out at the same time with UCLA or UC Berkeley. My own opinion… at 4:14PM PST
@sc8305 Good article. Kiddo got accepted to GA Tech CS (and UCSD CS and UCD CS) so far. The Georgia kids and parents don’t appreciate the interlopers from afar either. I think it’s the only realistic strategy for the UC’s to be able to offer less than bankrupting private school level tuition.
So as a student seeking need based aid, I should cry?
Waiting it out to release admissions in the hopes of making it looks more prestigious is stupid. That’s just a bad marketing tactic for a school like UCI. I really wanted to get into Irvine and probably attend but I got accepted to Penn State University Park in Mid January and have been researching and looking into them ever since. Every day UCI postpones the admissions, the more likely I am to attend Penn State.
And if they are not releasing them because they aren’t done deciding then that’s kind of pathetic as, like what was said before, other schools with as many applicants if not more have already chosen a dates…
Ugh! Did UCI already admit URMs? I thought they had only done Regents and honors.
I heard UC Irvine sends out acceptances first and then rejections, is that true? x_x
@alicksmeow According to last year, the majority of rejections came out towards the end :(. Hopefully they do it differently this year since we’re waiting extra long.

Seriously, at least they should give us a time when they’re going to release the rest of the decisions, not just some vague “before March 31st.”
In fact, after UCI had that controversial “banning the American flag scandal”, and recieving so much hate from the nation due to it, the least they can do is be more professional about little things like this.
Are they trying to decrease their credibility, or what?
