Honestly, UCI is the only school I want to go to, I really like the public health science degree with emphasis in health informatics and UCI is the only school to offer it. I have been going crazy all week and the fact that I am still pending is making me lose it.
I applied as a biological sciences major, but I don’t have the ochem series. Is it automatic rejection for me??

Essays: I didn’t think they were good, but I had them checked and okayed by 5+ people, including two official readers. I’m a natural writer, so essays are usually my shining point (though maybe not this time.)
Other: lots of financial hardships, went to a high-ranked but homophobic private university and left for political reasons

hey so I’m not TAG and I’m still waiting just like a whole lot of you. I am transferring into UCI as a Junior. What are my chances of getting in? And PLEASE, how do you find out if you got accepted, will you get an email and it’ll explain where to look???

@transfereee Ah, same here! I thought the decision would be rather easy but I feel rather happy that I’m in the position to have to choose between a few good schools though it’s giving me a headache!

@MAL0812 you will need to login to your portal to see if you’ve been accepted. The email usually comes the day after.

I also would like to know anyone who applied to the biological sciences or ecology and evolutionary biology got accepted without finishing organic chemistry.
Because I was worried if I didn’t get into any biology sections that I changed my major from ecology and evolutionary biology to psychology and social behavior this Wednesday (I only tooked two psychology classes so far). And was accepted to that major this Friday.
Only reason I did that was when I message the admission of me not completing the organic series (I only need ochem 2) would my application still be considered.
The only thing the admission replied back with was that since I didn’t complete the organic series I was not eligible for ANY biology majors. I was about to cry when I read that…because I thought that it was only given priority to those who have according to assist. But the admission still said the same thing.
I wouldn’t worry much I think, I don’t think it would be an automatic rejection if you don’t complete it. I would also call to make sure. Sorry, I don’t won’t to give wrong information. I’m just sharing what I was told. I hope there is still space.
Also, I was wondering how popular is ecology and evolutionary biology at UCI?
@WinterRose I got scared so I just did the same thing as you and changed to psychology. Hopefully I get accepted into that major as well…
