@dannybui9 Thanks for the info. I’ll just have to keep up the work I’ve been doing the last couple years then.
Waitlisted. Business administration with a 3.9 GPA.
The odd/ironic part is that I got accepted into Berkeley!
@ angeliquekim.
When did u find out you got waitlisted?
hey guys! question (kinda lengthy): Im at my current CC and will graduate with my AA for English in June. I was waitlisted for UCI and if I don’t get in, I’m debating with my mom on whether or not I should start on another associates in Japanese, this time at IVC, apply to UCI again in the fall, and hopefully be admitted for Fall 2016. However, my mom thinks that if I move to IVC, apply again, and get rejected, the time and money spent at IVC would be a waste. Instead, she said I should take a year off of school, apply to UCI in this November, and see what happens OR that i just settle and apply to go to CSUN for next year…I hope this makes sense.
So basically, should I go to IVC, working toward my associates in Japanese, apply to UCI in November again, and hope to get in? Or should I use time I could be at IVC, working, not going to school, but still apply to UCI again?
@Skyles21 IVC as Irvine Valley College? If so, I go there right now haha. If I were you, I would work towards your associates in Japanese, work part time, and apply to UCI when the application period rolls around. I like staying busy in the meantime. It’s always nice to have another degree on your resume
@angeliquekim wow, on the bright side I’m sure you’ll do big things at UCB if you go there
So is it even possible to appeal a waitlist? If it is, what exactly are you writing in the appeal? I’ve heard it is only for new and compelling information not already mentioned in your app? Any thoughts?
@CancelOut I always assumed that you could only appeal rejections. But I believe some forum-ers say that we can appeal both. As for the content, I’m not too sure really. Sorry this didn’t help you at all
@AlexNeeeeewin Are you still waiting? I’m getting posters that mentioned from Ms Sun’s site that you CAN appeal a waitlist but im not too sure.
@CancelOut yeah we get notified by june 1st (transfer sir deadline). I got my waitlist today so I’m currently still pretty bummed. Maybe you should draft one up just in case, I would but I feel like I don’t have any drastic points as to why I should appeal except for UCI being one of my top schools.
@AlexNeeeeewin Yeah, same here waitlisted today. I feel like the prompt for appeals is for new or compelling information that wasn’t stated on your application already. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t have stated it all in the app in the first place. I’ve heard that people can submit their Spring 2015 Transcripts too so idk
@CancelOut sucks for the both of us :(. Hopefully we both get in. I’m coming from a qtr system CC so by the time spring transcripts came out I would have already known the decision of the waitlist.
Yeah for sure. goodluck! @AlexNeeeeewin
@Skyles21 Have you ever considered the TAG agreement for the next application cycle? If you meet the requirements for Irvine’s TAG, it might be a good idea. I would talk to a counselor about it. Other UC campuses offer it as well.

don’t get too excited about tag…plenty of ppl on here did tag and got waitlisted so I’d find out more information about that
It’s the 30th UCI. Come on let us know
So I received an email from UCI April 17 requesting more information from my first years of high school (where i attended it because I moved on my sophomore year) I did not see it until 7 days later, the only gave me 5 days to respond, because it was sent to my junk mail. They said responding late could result in cancellation of my application or it being delayed. I know it is not cancelled because i have called the campus, but how much would it be delayed?
Hey guys,
So I have 70 transferable credits and I’m still waiting on Irvine to respond, but if I choose to stay another year at CC I was wondering if I pass the 70 transferable credits would it affect me? Please help me out :-SS
I think as long as the units are from a cc you are okay. It becomes a problem when the units are from a 4 yr university like another uc or cal state.
^What is the problem when the credits come from another UC?
