If you have too many from another 4 yr it could push you past junior standing
Whether it’s a rejection or acceptance, I don’t care now I just want to hear back lol 3.6 isn’t bad so I’m wondering if something else went wrong CSUSM it is for now I guess
^ I see…I’m here trying to gather info since my son is not very forthcoming. He did 2.5 yrs at UCSC in Physics then completely switched major to Music and has done 2 yrs at cc. Any thoughts?
What are his statistics? @UCI311
@UCI6288 I’m in the same boat, just give me somethin! I’m just tired of waiting!
How many units did he have ?
If we did not get an acceptance and waitlisted like people did yesterday, does that automatically mean rejection? I have not heard of one rejection yet
Units earned at any UC campus (Extension, summer, cross/concurrent and regular academic year enrollment) are not included in the limitation but are added to the maximum transfer credit allowed and may put applicants at risk of being denied admission due to excessive units. No more than 14 semester (21 quarter) units may be taken for Pass/No Pass credit (not major prerequisites). Grades earned in all UC transferable coursework are used in calculating the UC transferable GPA. View the transfer admission requirements for your desired major.
Transferring with More Than 70 Semester Units
UC Irvine does not penalize students who transfer with more than 70 semester units of UC transferable coursework from any institution or combination of institutions. Although 70 UC transferable semester/105 quarter units is the maximum number of lower division college units that may be applied to graduation credit, students will receive subject credit for courses taken in excess of this maximum. This means you will receive credit for fulfilling subject requirements even if the courses are taken after completing 70 UC transferable semester units. Grades earned in coursework beyond this limit are used in calculating the UC transferable grade point average.
^ Well, not entirely sure but I know his CC GPA is 3.5 ish, and he started his own business, and I thought his personal statement was awesome!( Mom talking) No way to assess how his audition went. I think his UCSC GPA was slightly less than 3.0…will that be considered because it was toward a different major?
The major won’t make a difference in how they count his credits and assess his standing (junior level). I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and your son. What kind of business?
I’m not trying to be negative, but I’m pretty sure last up now is all the rejections.
@QueSeraSera04 That is anything but not being negative… Have hope guys!
@chr1st1 Thank you for all that info! I only hope my son is as up to speed with all of this as you are. He’s the quiet, silent, moody type! Others in the family say that it’s the artist in him. His business is his own band…may not sound like a business, but for the past two years he has done all the leg work that is involved in securing gigs, contracts, paying his band members etc. He’s the piano player in the band and the band is named after him. (Proud Mama).
That sounds awesome. It definitely sounds like a business. What’s the band name. Let’s start a following on college confidential. Are they on youtube
Lol @Klasick I know it sounds that way, but I’m trying to be realistic. If it appears all the lead roles in play have been given, and understudies have been named I’m not going to tell my son that he’s likely to still get the part of Romeo. Sometimes you have just look at the likely possibility and accept it and if you’re proven wrong FANTASTIC! If not then at least you weren’t sitting there with absolutely no clue of the likely outcome.
I hope there’s still admissions today, or even waitlists, but I don’t think it’s something anyone should be banking on at this point.
That said good luck to all still and hopefully you still have back up schools and if not then don’t worry, your journey isn’t over, just a little delayed and that’s okay.
@QueSeraSera04 I see what you’re saying. Hopefully UCI can prove you wrong for the benefit of the both of us
@QueSeraSera04 they are still sending out acceptances and I’m guessing waitlists today…I think someone even said to Monday. Rejections, I heard, aren’t until they’ve sent everything else out.
@chr1st1 His band is called The Alex Raymond Band. He is on youtube but only older stuff when he was busking on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz. No longer does that as he has regular weekly gigs at bars and restaurants in SC. He also has a FB page.
@Skyles21 where did you hear that from? You have given me hope lol
@UCI6288 haha someone on this thread called the admissions office the other day and that’s what they said, but I don’t know how true that is. Everything seems to be all over the place this year. If I find it, I’ll send a link
