Hey! I’m still waiting on an acceptance decision as well, and I’m also a second bach applicant
No, you lose the deposit if you get off the waitlist and cancel your admission to the original UC you SIR’d. You would then have to pay again for the UC that accepted you from the waitlist if you want to enroll.
I’m checking daily but I already made the assumption that I won’t get the decision until April 30th.
And this is misleading because it says one year of Ochem with a C or better in each course, but my daughter was accepted with the condition that her second semester of Ochem has to have a grade of B or better.
I declined my admission to uci yesterday so I hope one of you, who wants to attend, gets off the waitlist!! Good luck everyone on the waitlist!
awesome! glad it’s not just me lol, i’m going for software, good luck!
That looks like a safe assumption, but I can’t help but be anxious I guess. Hope you’re coping well too!
That’s very odd. My condition for my second semester of organic chemistry says it has to be a C or better for my TAG. Not sure why it’s different for different people. She is also a bio sci major?
Yes she’s in the Department of Biology - Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. They just want to make it tougher on her! Maybe they didn’t like her GPA for TAG? 3.57
Ohh yeah, it could be since the TAG gpa must stay over 3.4, maybe the C would possibly bring it below that which is why they would require a B instead. Not 100% sure though but good luck to your daughter.
Hi guys! I got accepted to UCI as a Computer Engineering Major was wondering if I can drop a course I’m currently taking in my spring semester (CS008 / UCI’s equivalent would be EECS 40). I checked on my portal and it’s not considered a ‘conditioned course’ nor is it a transfer requirement (but just a major requirement that can be taken at UCI) I was wondering if withdrawing from a course like that will deny my acceptance to UCI? Thank you!
This is the assist.org link for more information: Welcome to ASSIST
before dropping any class listed on your TAU, i would check with UCI and see. especially if you already got in, it would suck to get that rescinded! when in doubt, send them an email!
I did send them an email but their response was really vague. They said:
"CS008, at Pasadena City College, is not a course required for admission into UCI’s Computer Engineering major. CS008 is articulated to a course at UCI (EECS 40) that is required for Computer Engineering majors to complete their degree. EECS 40 course can be completed at UCI.
At this time, we advise you to refer to your Provisional Admission Conditions under the “Conditions” tab in your portal. Please make sure you will adhere to all of your conditions if you decide to drop a course.
UCI admissions decisions are based on the information submitted on your UC Application and/or have reported as planned. We will conduct our final review after your official transcripts have been received."
Is appeal letter chance goes to everyone who has rejected?
Does anyone know when will we know if we received a scholarship?
I think it would say in your financial aid offer, but I’m not 100% sure. I know someone in this thread mentioned that their financial aid offer had Regents Scholarship.
I got accepted into UCLA for English!
I GOT INTO UCLA FOR ENGLISH!!
Still a bit undecided where to go. Originally I had narrowed my choices down to CSULB & UCI but went with Long Beach because it’s closer to me. The announcement that we need to be fully vaccinated changed everything though. I’m pregnant right now and planning to breastfeed so I’ll be home for 2021-2022, distance won’t be an issue for me anymore. Now my choice comes down to Long Beach vs UCLA. Financial aid covers both and then some but still feels so surreal being able to choose
HAS THE NEW POLICY CHANGED ANY ONE’S DECISION ON WHERE TO GO?
I was admitted to UCI for Business Administration. However, one of the conditions required that I submit an official transcript for a secretarial program I did in a college in Australia. However, that college has closed down many years ago. I have written to UCI Admissions Counselor and they said they would let me know in a few days. I still have not heard from them. Getting anxious as my other option - CSUF needs my acceptance by May 1st. Does anyone know that if not having this transcript will result in my acceptance being rescinded? FYI, the secretarial program that I completed did not have any college credits. All my college credits are from a community college.
Is the college in Australia a University level “college”? Some places call High school as “college” too. Or is it just a certification program? You should probably call UCI to resolve it today, they probably have too many email to go through. Otherwise, if you can afford the CSUF SIR fee, just paid it while resolving your UCI problem.
