How do I determine if majors that I choose for each campus are high in demand? I went on each UC campus's website that I am applying to, and there are asterisks and symbols indicating capped majors. However, I still want to research more and find out definitively if my chooses will limit my chances of admission if I choose a specific major. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm applying as a freshman btw.

In practice with the exception of UCB, and in that case primarily application to the college of engineering, you can declare undecided and not be disadvantaged. See <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

It’s quite possible that there are some minor exceptions to the matrix. That said, applying, for example to UCB, to the college of letters and sciences with the intent of transferring to the college of engineering after freshman year can prove to be a major blunder. You’re likely to find that transferring is very hard. Should your transfer be rejected what will you do?

Best is not to second guess the application guidelines.

Thank you! :-)
