Anyone with experience with Cincinnati’s BSN nursing program care to comment on its benefits? What distinguishes it? The schools own website shows a ranking of 17th in 2017 but clicking that link shows it’s now 26th.
Disclosure: This was my daughter’s #1 school, and she is attending in the fall.
One thing that is unique about the program is that they are starting to encourage co-ops for the nursing program. UC was the first college in the country to have such a program for most majors and it is now filtering down into the nursing program. Right now I think it is optional but I guess in time it could become a regular part of the program like other majors. When we toured they said they were just starting to integrate it on a voluntary basis.
Another thing she liked - which I guess could distinguish it - is that it is on Hospital Hill (aka Pill Hill), where a lot of clinicals are within walking distance including those at the UC Medical Center or there is a campus shuttle to them.
@bearcatfan thanks for that. D seems to have her heart so it’s good to hear about its strengths. Solid experience gained during school will be quite valuable jump starting a career.
One differentiator and area of concern for my D is the plan to require use of iPad minis for doing clinicals for nursing students. Anyone have any thoughts about this - good or bad?
