UC Or CSU - health Science / Public Health Major

I am a community college student and I have been planning to pursue the Health Science - School Health Education major at Cal State Long Beach. I would apply this October for fall of 2013. I spoke with my counseler today who said that I should not sell myself short and should consider both UC Irvine and UC Berkley's public health programs. This would leave me at the community college for two more years dealing with a much heavier course load.
I would like to teach health at a high school; however if the education system continues to diminish, I would like to be a health educator in a commu it's center, non-profit or even a hospital. The program at CSULB seems geared perfectly for this, while the UC programs seem geared towards policy and health admin. I know they are prestigious schools which is my main reason for consideration. I currently hold a 3.6 GPA if that helps. I need to decide soon and am looking for advice wherever I can find it. Thanks

You should definitely consider public health. There are lots of public health grads working in nonprofits, health centers, etc

Take some time now to chat with health educators, etc at places you would want to work and see where they came from
