There’s word out there might be a UC Redding in the works.

Oh dear god.

Can they please STOP putting schools in the sticks?

Seriously.

they should make a UC catalina island and a UC magic mountain before UC redding.

UC magic mountain would be UCSC for UC Santa Clarita.. but there already is another UCSC, so i don't think UC would make one..

UNLESS, they make it a UCV for UC Valencia.... NAW!!!

Question:

Which is easier to get in:

UC Santa Barbara or San Diego State?

I'd say San Diego. But I suppose it would depend.

MUCH easier to get into SD State.

UC Catalina Island would be sweet

It would be cool if they made another specialty school like UCSF with medicine.
It would be cool if they made a UC Art School or a Technology Institute. That’s what they should so with UC Redding.

lets see... they could make a UC Compton, a UC Morongo (move ucr 30 miles east) and a UC baja California

UC Catalina Island...
Now that I think about it, that would be awesome.
I'd go there rather than UCLA. No joke.

Dude no. Catalina is really, really boring after about a day.

I'd die.

Angl, that’s actually a really good idea, I’m not an artist or anything but that would be so cool if the UC system had an Art School. It would make the UC's that much cooler.

True.
Another reason why UC system > Ivy Leagues.

I'm assuming you don't like the beach much.
Then again, I've never been to Catalina Island myself so you are probably right.

I adore the beach. But honestly, and this might be me being a beach snob because the beach I grew up on is considered one of the best in the world (like officially and stuff), Catalina beaches aren't all that great. The water's cool but the beach itself is rocky and eh. Not my thing.

Also it's just that Catalina is like a podunk small town but on an island so that you can't escape. Having known people who grew up there and hearing just how miserable it was, I can definitely say with confidence that going to school there would suck. But uh. There are Bison, and bison are cool I guess. I just wouldn't want to go to school next to them.

Catalina is great for a day trip or maybe even a weekend, but beyond like 3 days I definitely couldn't handle it.

sniff but i loved it in 6th grade.

Haha.
This is ironic, but you just made me want to go there even more.
I think it was when you mentioned the bison and the beaches being overly rocky.

Lol. Well, lemme know how you like it when you do.

I just know that I'd totally rather spend a weekend in Laguna or La Jolla or Santa Barbara or something over Catalina any day.

Yeah, it's strange.
I tend to be attracted to those type of environments.
I guess it has to due with living in a city all my life.
Arizona is just one of my favorite states that I've been to.

Arizona is awesome. I really want to go back at some point. <3333 Sedona.

But yeah. I've lived in cities/suburbs forever. I don't necessarily mind them. But I think there's a difference between being away from the city in somewhere nice and being away from the city in a dirty little town. Ever been to Mentone, CA on the way to Big Bear? Cuz uh. Omg. I'm absolutely convinced that THAT is exactly what hell is like.

/I eventually learned that at one point in the 60s there was a toxic waste dump in Mentone. All of a sudden it alllllll made sense.

have you ever been to the inland empire? its like a collage of fast food joints, trailor parks and brown.
