Hello everyone,
I heard that the academics at UCSD are especially rigorous. Is this true? I’ve heard that some people’s social lives have suffered? Seems like a great school to me.

mind expanding on that? I am heavily considering UCSD as well.
Because it’s in a ridiculously beautiful coastal setting – a setting that could appeal to, say, beach bunnies and surfer dudes – UCSD always emphasized academics, and sought out top students. The administration and faculty wanted it to be as academically respected as it is scenically attractive. That said, with the growing competitiveness of UCLA, Santa Barbara and Irvine, UCSD is no longer the top “egghead” campus of the south. All of them are world-class with a student body to match. Yet you do’t hear that UCLA students complain about their social lives, do you? So yea, it’s a great school. If you go there, you’ll work hard… and likely play close to that hard, too
